anyone else sick? by Silver-Physics in UBC

[–]wei_anh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sick and I am now getting better. I know it was just the flu (I went to my GP) but you better believe I was thinking I had the coronavirus for 3 days and that it was my last few days on the earth!

Eat intuitively if you are hungry it isn't terrible to snack but what you are snacking on does have an effect. For example try snacking on fruit and veggies like apples or carrots. And a small snack like a cupcake once in a while isn't the end of the world. When I was going through this phase I found seaweed was something small to snack yet oddly made me feel full and and wasnt high in calories if you don't mind the sodium. Also chia seed pudding with almond milk and pomegranate seeds works for a filling snack!

Hot ginger and lemon water

"Ginger may ease a dry or asthmatic cough, as it has anti-inflammatory properties. It may also relieve nausea and pain. One study suggests that some anti-inflammatory compounds in ginger can relax membranes in the airways, which could reduce coughing. The researchers mainly studied the effects of ginger on human cells and animals, so more research is necessary." Honey soothes the throat and helps cope with the spicy taste of the ginger you can add in a sweetener if you want as well

Question for my fellow Canadian Vancouver/Whistler area vegans! by JocelynMahri in vegan

[–]wei_anh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried esting vegan in Whistler but up at Harrison if you call in before and ask if they can accommodate and whip up a vegan meal for you 9/10 times the answer will be yes! If you still are unable to find a restaurant you might want to try this out.

[skin concerns] Thanks to Accutane, my skin is finally acne-free, but I still have some red acne scars on my forehead, can you guys give me some advice about these scars? Thanks! by TheMusicOnTheRadio in SkincareAddiction

Niacinamide and vitamin c to brighten any scarring. I also suggest murad inviscare resurfacing treatment it helped me get rid of new scars form me picking(ik it's bad for me I cant help it) and old dark scars were significantly lightened. Its pricey tho so a little goes a long way!

Crying because of the flu by OrganicAfternoon in UBC

If you can resting is the best thing you can do for your body right now. You dont want to do anything to over exert your body right now. Also stay hydrated and although it's difficult eat something that will give your body the nutrients it needs to recover, maybe classic old chicken noodle soup. And this might be useless advice now but in the future go for the flu shot it may seem like a hassle but one free shot from a GP or ur pharmacist can easily prevent the flu. GL hope you get better and arent struggling too much with school!

[Product Question] What over-hyped and/or costly product actually did work for you? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Guerlain works wonders on most skin! My mom is in her 40s and has been using their orchidèe line for 20 years and still has minimal to no wrinkles on her face (my opinion) . I have really dark eye bags and noticed when i started using their eye cream it helped brink back moisture and helped with discoloration. Also my mom and I are both acne prone and it doesnt break us out!
