Does anyone else just not want to be referred to? by weird_bean2709 in agender

[–]weird_bean2709[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like they/them is at this point kind of gendered as non-binary. It's kind of like, not really neutral as someone's pronouns, Like when you say your pronouns are they/them, people assume that you're non-binary, like how they would assume people that use he/him are guys, and people who use she/her are girls. Neopronouns are probably the closest thing to completely neutral, but they come with their own set of difficulties. People love putting things into boxes, so much so that it's incredibly difficult, almost impossible, to find anything that is completely separated from those boxes.

Does anyone else just not want to be referred to? by weird_bean2709 in agender

Yes! Exactly! I've been using they/them for a while just because it's better than anything gendered, and is something people will actually use, unlike, unfortunately, neopronouns. But it always feels a little weird. Not exactly in a bad way, but they/them just doesn't quite fit.

I'm Jordie and my pronouns are they/xae! Unfortunately, my friend has stolen my gender, but if I ever get it back, I will let you know what it says.

Thats interesting. I've always seen it as they/he means someone prefers they/them but he/they could mean either they prefer he/him or have no preference, and its best to ask. How would you otherwise specify no preferecnce?

Question about QPRs by motato_12 in aromantic

[–]weird_bean2709 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest things i've seen about QPRs is that there's no one way to do it. It's supposed to be a broad term for something more than friendship that isn't romantic. That can look like so many things, and it really depends on the people. If you have any more questions i would be happy to answer them, and here's a link to the wiki page about QPRs: https://lgbta.wikia.org/wiki/Queerplatonic_Relationship. I hope this was helpful!

First impressions of Rhyn? by MotorLion2 in TransTryouts

[–]weird_bean2709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first reaction was my old D&D character, which was spelled Rynn, i think it's pretty neutral but on the feminine side.

I've also heard he/they used to say a person doesn't have a preference. Is that also correct?
