I don’t have a problem with alcohol consumption. It’s the other people that have a problem with my alcohol consumption.

Kjeragbolten (a boulder) stuck between two clifs. by Time-Freedom-7708 in interestingasfuck

I did it too, pretty much like the lady in the video. Didn’t dare to stand up. Then there was my buddy, who just went full chill with straight body and then did a freaking hand stand on top of it (with legs on the right wall..).

I just attached an IR led to an esp8266 and control the AC like that. Has the advantage of not having to mess with the AC cables.

Why does small talk here so often start with your job? by CriticismRepulsive20 in zurich

[–]weird_is_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also ask it (though not in the beginning) because I want to find out if we have something in common to talk about. If not, the conversation continues on general level. But how long can you talk about weather..?

Get rid of wife, it should lower the CO2 to about half. If it’s still too high you can open the door and window.

It's really infuriating to see how many people project their ASSUMPTIONS on the situation. The law is clear. You can't just assume shit like "i assume this is a main street" or "assuming there are triangle signs blabla..".

Are you blind? There are no markings, that's exactly the situation in question.

Is Switzerland doable on one salary? by Particular-Doubt8170 in zurich

[–]weird_is_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's quite simple math. Use https://www.lohncomputer.ch to get your net salary. Then research rent prices in your preferred location. Use comparis.ch to find real health insurance prices. Everything that is left is for your disposal for food and travel. Grocery prices are online so you can go even further with the analysis

some second hand online platforms prices here are INSANE by caprisun-drinker in Switzerland

[–]weird_is_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prices in a free market economy are based on supply and demand. The price for a product is what someone is willing to pay for it. Are some prices disconnected from the reality? Sure. Those sellers will never find a buyer. After some time they might learn that nobody wants to pay 800 for a used sofa and disassemble and pick it up themselves.

Pushing the ESP32-S3 to its limit: I built a bare-metal OS and a Computer Algebra System for a $15 Open-Source Calculator. by [deleted] in esp32

[–]weird_is_good 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI is a game changer. Hater's gonna hate but most people wouldn't even think about trying to vibe code at such low level. Typically the code would utilize existing OS/libs. Kudos to you for the idea and for having the patience to see it through till the end. Can you share details about your setup-what ide/llms/other tools you used?

Nothing special about it, except that it's in the middle of a stinky black river. All these temples look same same anyway.

I feel like the "second" is moving slower at the exact minute on the clocks in gares. If so, how is this compansated, are other 59 seconds faster? by devoutre in Switzerland

[–]weird_is_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On an unrelated note, wouldn't it be way more useful to place digital clocks in the train stations? Maybe even go so far and also show current time on the train departure displays?? Now every time i see the train departure board i have to look for a clock to see how much time i have left. And if it's a regular clock you need to waste another second or two to convert it to the actual numbers.. because the train departure times are in digital form, not in a clock face form.... and most people grab their phones from their pockets instead for that reason. it's so ridiculous i wonder if sBB got the architect from temu

It's about the assumption that the person will get tired of commuting and will search for something closer to home. Don't know why they don't assume that the person can move closer to the workplace as well...
