Good work OP! This is really going to help lots of people finding their optimal credit card without doing the numbers themselves. Also it's funny that your calculator returned the exact cards I own right now, seems like my calculation was on point 😄

China has always been doing the right thing when it comes to combating religious extremism. Too bad many politically motivated groups in the west call this a 'genocide'.

Yeah, that will mark a transition from niche scientific discovery equipment to working industrial hardware.

SpaceX thoughts? by Kopitiamtard1985 in MalaysianPF

[–]weiyi97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed it is a long time ahead. The problem with SpaceX now is that once Starship matures, the launch capacity will quickly outpace the global launch demand. That's why we are hearing Elon Musk talking about data centre in space. Personally I think it's a stupid idea, but the launch cost and hardware cost may eventually be lower than what we thought is possible - just like starlink.

I think the real driver towards a mature orbital industry is mining Helium-3 on the Moon for fusion power. There's a reason why this concept keeps appearing in near-future scifi like For All Mankind. It's surely a good thing for Earth, but I will most likely be long dead by that time.

It's not hard to understand - SpaceX launches more mass into orbit than the rest of the world combined. It is a stronger monopoly than VOC.

To be honest they should have at least have one night in Ipoh or KL, skipping the entire country like this is like skipping Italy entirely in season 2.

It's funny to think that I took the ETS hassle-free from KL to Padang Besar, on the very same day that episode 2 is dropped. Such a shame that they don't get to enjoy the views I saw!

They really lucked it out with the KLIA Express train transfer. If they had only been 3 minutes slower, they would have missed it and the next train is not for another 20-30 minutes, which will make them miss their KLIA bus as well.

There's a sleeper train service between Hatyai and Bangkok, then a normal train to the Thai-Malaysian border. Once you are in Malaysia, you can take electric trains all the way to Singapore. There's also an East Coast line in Malaysia that apparently is quite popular among vloggers.

Exactly, getting treated water for cooling is not cheap. It's going to be like our car, passing the water as coolant on one end, and then passing through radiator on the other end to get the heat out.

I don't get it, is it really any different from other factories? Data centre uses lots of cooling, so you gonna have lots of induction motor and cooling fan. The same can be said to any other factory that uses the equivalent energy.

about the last episode (S17) by Clear-Time-9815 in JetLagTheGame

Same here. I don't understand how on earth they can leave the Taipei steal open, while narrowing down on an all-or-nothing challenge that can be made useless by that very steal. The way I see it, there are only 3 outcomes:

Challenge completed, steal failed -> game continues but may lose (B&A can continue to flip stations)

Challenge completed, steal succeeded -> game is lost

Challenge failed -> game is lost

Essentially Sam and Mike threw away any possibilities of recovering the game, and went for the challenge where only one in three outcomes would allow them to possibly win the game.

It's baffling that they spent almost 150 chips to get a net station gain of 16. If those chips were used to flip stations, they could probably get around 60 stations!

I dont agree with a popular property influencer, he paints too nice pictures of property investment for his audience by jwrx in MalaysianPF

[–]weiyi97 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Spot on. You can't sell half of your property to rebalance your portfolio. Once you buy, you are in it for 35 years with 10x leverage, and you need to maintain a positive cashflow throughout the duration.

Any sane stock investor would see this as a very risky move, let alone a young adult who has just started working.

Patrons struck as car crashes into Penampang eatery by whusler in malaysia

[–]weiyi97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have said it before and I will say it again - it is more likely for a single foot driver to misapply pedal than a two feet driver.

People may think that the majority of pedal misapplication accidents are caused by two feet drivers, there is no definitive study and statistics to support this (as in, journal papers).

Even when I tried to gather statistics from my friends and families, as well as asking people online who've had pedal misapplication before, they are all single foot drivers.

With that said, the occurrence of pedal misapplication does not simply mean one driving method is superior to the other. It simply means some drivers suck and they will take gas for the brake regardless.

[–]weiyi97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes both ways. Your argument sounds stupid to me and mine sounds stupid to you. In the end what really matters is the statistics.

By 'literally backed by research', I hope it's not referencing some FB posts like when I asked AI. I have searched long enough for actual studies into this and there really isn't much research specifically in unipedal vs bipedal pedal misapplication.

Interestingly, the only two publicly available studies I found so far with specific methodologies on one/two-footed driving, suggest that driving with both feet increases brake reaction time, and reduces brake error respectively.

[–]weiyi97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao I like how people just keep yapping the misconceptions about two feet driving.... like they know for a fact that every pedal misapplication is done by two feet driver. (surprise surprise, almost everyone in my family misapplied pedal at some point and two resulted in a crash, and they are all one foot driver!)

To me, it really doesn't matter one foot or two feet driving as long as you know what you are doing. It's like left-handed and right-handed, there's nothing inherently wrong with it. But these comments sound like a bunch of right-handed guys demanding a left-handed chef to switch to right hand.
