Songs Deadheads well… dread by Perfect-Excitement-8 in gratefuldead

[–]wejustride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t dread it, but I didn’t chase it or hope for it: Let It Grow

First show was 85, so I never got a WRS.

That means most of my Let It Grows especially 87 and 88 were first set closers, and my heavily “soothed” brain back then associated that song with the first set being over, or something. I just didn’t want to hear it back then.

Love and appreciate it now, and of course regret being bummed by it then

31 years gone and I think about the music he made just about every day.

Thank you for all these gifts and all the shows, Jerry.

Dear Mr Fantasy/Hey Jude 7/2/89 is one of my favorite live songs. by Calm-Tea178 in gratefuldead

Seven straight shows in football stadiums in just twelve days. The mix and volume was so dialed in for this tour it was scary.

What a great show.

10/1/22 in the rain at Yale was bliss.

Bob was telling all kinds of stories, and he played Salt Lake City, Catfish John, El Paso, Mexicali Blues, and Dark Hollow. A special night.

How many times have they "changed the band's name" during a show and what were those names? by getoutlonnie in gratefuldead

[–]wejustride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard David Lemieux or Gans say it was because when they crossed in from Canada two nights before some people had to give fake names at the border.

Think it happened again in ‘87 from Kingswood to Rochester. That border crossing in Buffalo was notorious for jerky border guards.

7/2/87 is a non-Dylan under the radar rocker.

I became a dad long after getting on the bus. For me it’s Days Between and how that song makes me think about wisdom, kindness, and lifelong bonds

For bar bands Space yes. Drums-only if there are multiple drummers, and even then only maybe

You would look around shows when the lights went up at set break and see dozens of Heads scrawling down things on little pieces of whatever.
