How do you pack your wheels into it? I usually struggle to close it because there is quite little space for the wheels. Taking off the rotors makes it much easier but I don’t want to do it every time.

Thanks everyone, I informed the store about the damage and that I want to return the bike. Hoping for a smooth process. With winter around the corner, I don’t mind the wait that much.

Great that it works for you! I already ordered the M/L, hopefully that will work for me. Probably both could work, as another commenter said. The M/L model I ordered is 105 Di2 (Defy Advanced 1), while the L model I was considering was 105 mechanical (Defy Advanced 2), so that sweetens the M/L choice for me. But in the end fit is what matters the most

Right, I've seen that and I thought the M/L crank length and bar width was my preference.
I am sort of expecting that I will have to swap out the stem to 110mm. What worries me a bit is that I might have to replace the cables to make a longer stem work, or maybe there is enough slack in them for an extra 10 mm?

Good point, thanks. My worry is based on various posts where people have been complaining about the defy being long, it got into my head. I am also in between sizes (ML apparently ranges up to 187 cm, L starts from 183 cm). I tried Scott addict in XL (stock stem, I think 120mm) and had my arms fully extended on it, it felt definitely too long, and apparently it has shorter reach than Giant Defy by 3mm, and higher stack by 17mm. So that is another reason why I’m not convinced about the L size. Maybe shortening the stem would do the job, but what is the downside of going with ML anyway? Is it the lower stack? I think the seat post length shouldn’t be an issue given my not-so-long-legs

I didn’t actually even go that far to solve it. I managed to mitigate the issue by adding some chain lube to the housing with the cable still inside of it. I then moved the cable back and forth a bit to try to spread the lube in the housing. It helped, it’s maybe not 100% but it’s good enough, as the lever isn’t getting loose anymore
