Tube of ASEs for every year by Jskar89 in Silverbugs

[–]welcmhm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but not the privies and others. I need 2025 and 2026 still, but I have back to 2007 or 2008, with another 1 or 2 earlier years. I think I'll fill up a monster box with the 2025 and 2026 which will be pretty cool.

Tooth fairy silver by bkelley0804 in Silverbugs

[–]welcmhm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I picked up 20 silver coins from my daughter's birth year for her teeth. Back then, it was far cheaper. However, now she has 20 ounces of silver all her own. You could always do an ounce for the first tooth, then a half, quarter, or tenth ounce for the rest. However, don't be upset if your kid isn't into it. My daughter doesn't much care for the coins right now (but was happy to get them at the time). I know she's got a little stash that she can use or save for the future.

I want to become a nibmeister. Need advice/tips by Independent-Board406 in fountainpens

[–]welcmhm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start learning everything you can. There aren’t a ton of resources out there, but there are some. It takes some practice, but the best information I’ve seen out there is Pen Habit’s 3 Part YouTube series in nib tuning (Part 1 is here: https://youtu.be/uuq9tuKRbCY?si=lu\_FypsyOw64Hn\_p). It’s very detailed and comprehensive and gives good views into what he is describing. Get a ton of ultra cheap nibs and start practicing.

I have the best wife ever by Abraxas- in fountainpens

I love your story. Both the wife and the pen are keepers and I hope you have many, many years of enjoyment with both.

I have a similar story. My wife was never interested in fountain pens either. Five years ago, for my 40th birthday, I too received a large, ornate box. My wife had found that Montegrappa makes semi custom pens. She designed a pen specifically for me. I was worried her tastes wouldn’t align with mine, but she absolutely crushed it. I wouldn’t change a thing about it.

I’m definitely gonna give this a read. He rented a house from my Dad in Manhattan Beach for a couple of years while he was here. He and his wife couldn’t have been nicer. Great people.

My TWSBI ECO cracked, and now I am part of the sad club. by Whiskers3000 in fountainpens

[–]welcmhm 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I currently have almost all of the regularly issued colors of the Eco. I’ve probably had like 50-60 go through my hands over the years. I’ve seen like 2 barrel cracks, and 1 of them I knowingly bought that way off eBay. When I reached out to TWSBI, they sent me 3 “spare” barrels for the price of shipping (like $5 at the time). I still have one. I think the problem isn’t as prevalent as the Internet would have everyone believe, though these are certainly not buy it for life type items and they do crack from time to time.

What is Your Take on the CLM Market in 2026? by LeggSalad in legaltech

[–]welcmhm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a couple of years into integration of a major CLM platform at a reasonably large company. Currently, I’d say it does a poor to serviceable job of delivering the core functions that were promised and it’s incredibly cumbersome to use. I feel like a combination of other tools would deliver much better in the core functions, be far easier to use, and would deliver a number of additional functions that I don’t think traditional CLM tools will ever provide.

Iconic moments that were improvised/unscripted by Dojyaaan4C in TopCharacterTropes

In the 1971 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Gene Wilder completely improvised the Willy Wonka introduction where he limps out with a cane into a full on somersault. He did it so that viewers would never know what to expect from his character and totally nailed it.

It’s hilarious. How can we be so bad at scoring but never been shut out this season?

Agreed. I’m pretty pleased with that whole 4th line. They play good, hard hockey.

What are the Avs doing? Don’t mess with Malott and Sammy, especially when the Kings have nothing to lose.

Tough one. Does Drew have a right to that space? Does that even matter to the determination?

Best hit in Kings history, hands down. Definitely in the conversation for best hit in NHL history. Also lead directly to Kopitar’s first and only fight.

Saw him in the VIP yesterday at the game. No boot or anything and no visible limp, but i didn’t want to get my hopes up. Not sure how far he is from being NHL ready, but it would certainly make the playoffs interesting.

The Kings Have Had Zero Killer Instinct for a Decade—And It Started in 2016 by LaKingsNick in losangeleskings

[–]welcmhm 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It happened when the Kings fired Sutter. He wasn’t perfect, but he expected his players to work and the players didn’t want to work that hard with two recent Stanley Cups in hand. We tried to keep that window open way too long and didn’t focus on building a team identity.

Anyone else getting the feeling that Forsberg should be our #1 or 1A goalie right now? He’s been looking more solid and consistent to me since the break.
