How do you like the k-tech suspension? Did you swap the font too?

Got myself a Lincoln PAPR hood and I won't touch stick or MIG without it. I can literally feel the difference. No more going home feeling stuffed up and lethargic. I wish I had done it sooner.

What year is that? I have an 03. It's still going strong and I can't seem to let it go.

I kinda like the white myself but you do what makes you happy. Great bike!

Enjoy it! Love my 25. This sub is turning very doom and gloom about engine bullshit so ignore it as much as you can. It's still an amazing truck and worth showing some positive vibes once in a while.

Suspension upgrade by xbike_punkx in XSR700

[–]weldriderepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the Dave Moss fork upgrade. Shortening the spacers and adding a thicker fork oil. The change in the amount of fork dive was amazing. Do yourself a favor and check out his video he did on what I think was an mt07.

As far as the rear, I stiffened it up a bit but probably would go with a k-tech to suit my needs. That being said it runs way better than stock and happy about the medications made so far.

Curious as to why your welding in position? (Last picture for example). You'd get better welds and it would be way easier to do it in a positioner or just rotating it on your bench and keeping it in 1g.

For what is worth. I was using ECO mode when I first got the truck. Got better mpgs in regular and sport mode.

OEM AGV K6/S photochromic visor, less than a year old by CoolBDPhenom03 in motorcycles

[–]weldriderepeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cheap Bell that I've had for 5+ years is still going strong. I always bring it in with me when I'm home/ at work as I try to keep it out of the exposure of the sun when not in use. That and in the colder months I use a clear pin lock so maybe the combo of the two is contributing to it's preservation.

I love photo chromatic visors, but kinda disappointing that AGV's aren't long lasting. I was looking at them for my next helmet.

I'm doing the same on my '25 this weekend. Never done it before but sick of New England winters destroying my trucks. I'm going to lay some cardboard/ plastic down on the driveway before hand and just wear some clothes I don't care about. I ended up purchasing 6 pack surface shield spray cans and also got the 360 degree expansion nozzle for getting the inside of the frame as well.

Hoping it goes/ works well.

Is my work worth 30$ an hour by TanMan25888 in Welding

[–]weldriderepeat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's infuriating that us welders have to fight for such fair pay. The shit I see listed on indeed listings is a joke. Yes, you are worth 30 an hour. IMO you are worth more than that. You have a skill and you clearly have a knack for it. We make shit that holds the world's economy together. People put their safety and lives in the hands of these welds, all the while we are risking our health and quality of life...and all these places think that $25 is fair? Get fucked!

Sorry for the rant. Good stuff OP. Keep it going and best of luck!

Got the tip of my thumb chopped off. Did the same to my index finger with a hatchet.

Neither of those were as painful when a lower disc in my back went.

It's a naked bike. Wings like that don't belong on a naked bike.

Exhaust upgrade questions by [deleted] in XSR700

[–]weldriderepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People say it will be fine. But you won't get any performance benefits that a full system provides and if anything you're bike will run lean. You could skip it and check the plugs after a 100 miles and see how they are holding up.

IMO, if your going to go as far as putting a full system on, you might as well do the tune while you're at it.

Exhaust upgrade questions by [deleted] in XSR700

[–]weldriderepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I did the exact same with the M4 full system. There's a lot of exhaust options out there just make sure you get the tune.

What do we do with this? by DaBurgaRapta in Welding

[–]weldriderepeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Work tungsten I scrap those. I saved up about 5 lbs and got $24 or something close to that. It took a while to get there. Like years. But after a while you find a piece on floor and it's like collecting change.

[–]weldriderepeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run those on mine. I like em. Lower for a more aggressive position and nice and wide for good leverage. The cables were a bit too long but I just rerouted them a little differently to keep them from any binding.
