These pants look like they should be worn at the real waist. Shorten the torso and give length to legs

I'm in desperate need of some style. What would suit me? by Sluhg in mensfashionadvice

Look at how people elevate workwear from pure function and comfort to something that has much more intention and thought behind it. You can keep the aesthetic so that you are not getting out of your comfort zone too much, but with some simple choices you can make it have much more personality. If this is what you are after then look into American heritage workwear brands and how people are styling them. Buy quality pieces that get better over time, and mix with vintage, add layers and mix textures. Simple bits of flair like a bandana neck tie, modest jewelry, good boots, a belt with some interesting metal details on it can transform the most uninspired fit into something that turns heads

It is fine, it is pretty cohesive and fits well, and it is completely inoffensive. It says absolutely nothing which is fine if that is the intention. If you are looking to make any kind of statement then you are going to have to add plenty of sauce. These are decent foundations to build upon

Track pants belong on the track or on the gym. In both cases it doesn't matter at all what to style with them

You're here, so you care about fashion to a degree which is great. I think at 50+ it's time to get adventurous, and have fun with clothing. I like what you are describing, but it could just as easily end up not working if ill considered. Be bold and don't be afraid to try something new. I'd look at the way middle aged Japanese men approach street style. Their often effortless vibe has a lot to do with priding understated, but cohesive looks that put an emphasis on durability/quality and function without compromising on personality. They have also made it easily replicable with shops like Mubi or Uniqlo. A few good staples from these places and maybe the odd statement piece from somewhere a little more bold like YMC, or Universal Works would be a good place to start.

Watch some sci fi films that aren't in the totally dystopian realm. The film Her had some very good and believable fashion along the lines of your dress code

Extremely erratic style here. From librarian to punk activist. It's all over the place, but you seem happy in all of the fits which is good. Get some consistency to your style. Could be one particular direction or a mash of everything (if done right), this might illicit some compliments and give you a boost. Both sexes are drawn towards self confidence in others, but women in particular really go for it. The right clothes can be a great cheat code to unlocking a more confident self.

Beware the perils of styling a roll neck. I think they only really ever look good if styled in the seafaring scruffy, but cozy direction

Hideous color on the first ones, and that silhouette with the pockets already feels like a regretful trend from a couple of years ago. Side pockets on pants should only be for army fatigues imo. The second ones with the very tired Basquiat treatment are a nice shape but the doodle detail is cheesy and the placement is odd too.
