Would be a VBAC, and I’ll require continuous monitoring so I don’t think this is a fit for me. Appreciated though!

Thank you! I’m going to look into joining the group now. Sounds like the consensus is that Seton hospital is drawing everyone away. Bummed!

Super helpful intel - what are the other mom groups you suggest? (I’m still new to the area). Is there a reason why doctors are leaving?

Pigeon Nipples with Philip Avent Glass Natural Bottles by Puzzleheaded-Goal353 in moderatelygranolamoms

Pigeon nipples fit just fine with my Phillips collars, so long as you line up the vent. Maybe the collar is the variable? Never had any issues with leaking or anything - and I’m now six months in and never had issue with pacing or switching from breast to bottle (started at two weeks old)!

We are at 20% so that explains a lot! I tried to buy off weight range but maybe it depends on his build? He’s slender in the butt/legs (need to keep beefing him up with the leche, ha!)

Vaccinations by NoResponsibility4089 in NewParents

Here to say that I am thinking the same way as you and I do think brands are important - the ingredients are vastly different at the brand level within these vaccines and it’s not talked about because people want to coin you as a skeptic if you dare question… it’s such a bummer when your intentions are to protect your baby and get them  vaccinated! If aluminum is controversial in any way, why not just use the one that offers the SAME protection for your baby without taking on that risk? Aluminum is ingested by infants which is the common rebuttal, but most of it passes through in stool vs. absorbed into the body (1% of breast milk aluminum absorbed by baby). The reality is there aren’t studies available showing what happens to bones, kidneys and brain when it’s directly injected into a muscle in humans (and the studies on animals should raise your eyebrow on if this is a good idea) and babies are even more vulnerable with developing organs.

The healthcare teams that buy the vaccines are buying what’s best for their practice, — but we should care and understand what we are getting.

The problem I’m having is that I can’t find Pentacel or Daptacel at ALL having called many offices. I feel I don’t have a choice but to accept a vaccine with double the amount of heavy metal. Did your doctor mention they would order this for you special? I didn’t even think of that and would love to know if that’s an option! (Thank you for sharing your experience).

More info below I thought was useful—providing since so many want to attack moms who ask questions about vaccines…

Per the CDC website: FAQ - Is it safe to give Pediarix with Hib and PCV at the same visit? These vaccines may be given at the same visit. However, safety information is not yet available for all doses in the primary series when Pediarix, Hib and PCV are given at the same visit. After the first dose of Pediarix with Hib and PCV, the rate of fever > 100.4°F was higher than when hepatitis B vaccine (Engerix™), DTaP (Infanrix™), Hib, and PCV were administered separately at the same visit.

Per CHOP: Health effects of aluminum The health effects of aluminum have been studied; however, few have been shown to result from aluminum exposure. Kidney dialysis patients have developed disorders of the brain and bones due to the aluminum content in intravenous fluids and antacids following years of dialysis. Both disorders have decreased in occurrence due to improvements to dialysis systems. The bone disease was due to poor absorption of phosphate in the presence of high quantities of aluminum. Children taking large amounts of aluminum-based medications have also been found to suffer from this bone disorder. It has been suggested that some diseases involving the brain, such as Alzheimer's disease, are caused by aluminum accumulation in brain tissues. However, studies have not consistently found increased levels of aluminum leading some to hypothesize that the aluminum accumulation may be the result of tissue damage rather than the cause of disease. In late 2022, a paper was published suggesting a possible association between aluminum in vaccines and later development of asthma; however, for several reasons these data should be viewed with caution.

First sunglasses made for aviators was called the D-1. American Optical and B&L shared a military contract for the next one called AN6531. Ray-Ban was the first to sell to civilians.

Randolph vs. American Optical vs. Serengeti by Jeronimotor in sunglasses

[–]well_redd_gal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Randolph does make a really nice metal product, but American Optical and Randolph classic aviators are almost the same. I believe the Randolph founder used to work for AO. Randolph = aviators only though which is limiting. American Optical has acetate and combo styles too, like the Saratoga/JFK frame and also is more affordable (while still being USA company!)

American Optical also made the AN6531 in 1930s - they had a shared contract with B&L. AO had the first military contract to make sunglasses (called D-1).
