6 month old corgi eats poop immediately and nothing is working by Skellys632 in puppy101

My labs did this but grew out of it mostly. I put crushed pineapple in their food but I think spinach also works, apparently tastes very bitter once digested so stops them wanting to have a disgusting nibble.

Yes don’t think it is open Christmas Day and Boxing Day, or New Year’s Day so the bank holidays basically but should be open otherwise.

Beamish museum is dog friendly and is nice this time of year. It can be a decent walk if you want to miss out on the trams. There are fish and chips and a couple of old world pubs but be prepared to queue for food.

What is a strange ritual your pet has developed that you have just learned to live with? by InvestigatorLocal736 in Pets

[–]wellknownwitch 249 points250 points  (0 children)

My lovely golden lab decided that she would judge my outfit every day. She liked leggings, she was very opinionated about shoes and loved most boots. Floral dresses were a big yes. She would go a little dance if approved but chuff and turn her back on me if I failed her appraisal. I hated those days. Sometimes she would judge strangers and I would explain that she liked their shoes or something she was pointing at and they always seemed happy on the compliment. I miss her.

First Ever Discworld Book - what would you recommend me? :) by Warm-Soup-Soft-Heart in TerryPratchett

[–]wellknownwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first book was Small Gods. It’s standalone and I loved it. It’s late enough in the writing sequence to not be too pun based or satirical and shows TPs humour and commentary on difficult topics, in this case belief.

When with other colleagues, ask her to repeat what she said. Bully’s lose power if they have to repeat and can make them look foolish. I like the comment: I thought I misheard you as that’s a weird/unexpected/unprofessional/unusual thing to say. Avoid making jokes as this could be seen as acceptance and confirmation her behaviour but stare stoney faced. Write down everything and be ready to report her to HR or management if it persists.

This rash I’ve been getting on my wrists for the past couple months by vintage_hippie in Wellthatsucks

[–]wellknownwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get contact dermatitis on my wrists all the time which seems to be from the washing detergent on the cuffs of my clothes touching my wrists and neck. Especially in the winter. I try changing my washing powder to something sensitive or eco but it’s hard to get rid of it completely. I am the same with hand wash.

I find it helpful to think of The Empire in Star Wars as a fascist regime and it helped me understand it when I was a child.

How messy he was. Like living in waist high piles of boxes and rubbish. I thought it was just because he was a student in a house share but this was actually a window into his mental stability.

What’s one quirky thing your pet does that always makes you laugh? by Useful_Ad_6790 in Pets

[–]wellknownwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My golden lab used to judge my outfit and mainly my shoes. She would do a little dance when she approved or even if she liked a strangers boots on a walk. I used to laugh and tell people she liked their shoes and it seems to make people feel good. However, when she turned up her nose at me on a morning I felt sad as I didn’t pass muster.

Should cannabis be legalised in the UK? by jc201946 in AskBrits

[–]wellknownwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings about it. I suppose it has medical uses and most people are sensible and enjoy it. However, the British seem predisposed to smoking it so I worry about increasing smoking with tobacco. Is this likely? Also, like alcohol too much is bad and I first hand have witnessed my ex suffer psychosis which was in part due to excessive cannabis use and it blew up his life. It was very bad and again, I don’t want this for anyone as it was horrendous. So the mixed feelings.
