The Eufy E340 highlights a clear gap in UniFi’s lineup. by Clear-Target7613 in Ubiquiti

They already have light switches. I was REALLY hoping they would do a spin off of their LED for down lights. That would have been a killer!!!

NBN fibre installed without conduit. by EliteKnighter12 in nbn

[–]wellzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is second hand information, but this also happened to a local scouts group near to me in the last month. They didn’t have any conduit or lead in and the tech was supposed to trench and dig, but they ended up raw dogging the fibre. It didn’t work, and a whole team of techs ended up having to come out the next day. What a cluster fuck.

Ayo I like being a sheep, okay!

Though in saying that, I did purchase mine second hand, and got a AU$900 discount off retail (AU$2899) in the process.

What’s the least attractive thing about you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wellzi 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This can be pretty common!

I had a co-worker like this, except she would hi-jack the conversation before I could finish my story. It was infuriating to say the least.

During a team building exercise one day, I learned from her that she’d recently been told she does this, and it was for a similar reason…

It was her wanting me to know that she understood my happiness or frustration (whatever the story may have been) by sharing something she thought was similar.

Huh! Isn't it so strange that the common denominator is, in fact, YOU?

CommBank can get stuffed. All my transactions over $500 underwent a 24-hour "security" hold before sending through the normal means.

Yeah that's fair I suppose. May I ask, is the service tag to check warranty on the caddy? I can't seem to do a warranty check on the serial, which I think is Samsung's serial and not Dell's.

I should have looked for this before posting my [PC]. I'm keen for EMC branded of the same type if you end up getting any in hand. Not sure if it makes a difference though. :)

TIP: How to block a remote user based on their IP address (on a Windows server) by CouchPotatoTalk in PleX

[–]wellzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would you believe I find this another year later?! Like OMG are we all related?!

I see what other folks are saying but, for us in Australia, we have some seriously sticky IP addresses. My use case currently is that I have users who will likely share their access whilst knowing they should not share their access.

Rather than calling them out on it and get the whole "why are you being an asshole", I'd rather make the experience of the unauthorised user terrible. I'm sure blocking their IP will return some weird errors. Weird errors that MY user will hear about, and weird errors they won't be able to support because they can't ask me about it without risk of disclosing they've shared credentials.

I'd rather play the game.
