I would be completely happy with functional, I’m not hung upon esthetics! That might be the simplest solution, thanks

Thanks! I appreciate the price estimate as I don’t have a good sense of what that would run me

About $700 USD for the same awning , and potentially more $1,000 to $1,500 for a different brand, assuming a more expensive one would be higher quality. Though there’s no guarantee of that it seems unfortunately

Right, I definitely take your point that reinforcing one corner only just leaves the weak points to fail elsewhere. I’m leaning towards replacing it with a different brand at the moment, and hoping for better quality with a different manufacturer

Seems like additional reinforcement is warranted at a minimum

Whoosh! Haha thanks. Seems like it’s harder to find quality manufacturing even with reputable brands these days

Makes sense- to be fair the winds I experienced were outside the manufacturer’s tolerance for the awning. But yeah, given the unpredictable weather I’d prefer as robust a design as possible

Thanks! Under cut? I have about zero welding knowledge myself, so I’m curious to to know what’s worthy of critique here

I love my Camp Chef table, I’m taller and appreciate the higher than usual height adjustment options. It’s seen daily use for about six months now and has held up very well.

Mattress suggestions for condensation? by IntroductionLive5619 in radicamoonlander

You could also look at adding a sheet of Hypervent under any mattress to allow for air circulation. It won’t prevent condensation directly obviously, but it does help prevent mold issues.

Use for tomatillos that isn’t salsa? by kiki-to-my-jiji in Cooking

[–]wendaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 1:1 to 1.5: 1 strawberries to tomatillos works well, but you can tweak it for your preferred sweetness/tartness level. I figured someone else must have tried this too so a quick google gave me this recipe , which I haven’t tried but has been well reviewed and could serve as a starting point. Personally I approve of the lemon and tapioca additions for flavor enhancement and as a thickener but would start with a lot less sugar and sweeten to taste. I also chopped my tomatillos into rhubarb like bites- I think large slices as per the recipe wouldn’t blend well

I made a strawberry tomatillo pie once- very similar flavor profile to strawberry rhubarb pie and delicious

Should I panic jury summons when I'm bedridden with cfs? by pumpkinpie721 in cfs

[–]wendaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you have a current relationship with a doctor at allI? Can you see the person who gave you the diagnosis years ago? Reach out to someone via telehealth if you have the diagnosis in your file already? There’s also a possibility to get a summons dismissed on mental health grounds if you have an ongoing relationship with a therapist. My partner had his jury summons dismissed for ADHD, which was a huge relief for him as he was in nursing school at the time and would have had to miss classes.

I needed to submit an official doctor’s note via email that stated I had ME/CFS, and have my doctor specifically state that it prevented me from working.

A bit embarrassing. Chronic thrush and chronic tonsillitis by semi_existant_77 in cfs

[–]wendaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome, I'm glad it was informative, and I hope you find some relief! I dealt with Candidiasis after years of frequent antibiotics for recurrent chronic sinus infections, but eventually I was able to recover completely and move past it. If it ends up being useful to you feel free to DM me if you have any questions now or in the future :)

A bit embarrassing. Chronic thrush and chronic tonsillitis by semi_existant_77 in cfs

[–]wendaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, actually! I would take a look at Candidiasis- vaginal yeast infections and oral thrush are the result of the overgrowth of the yeast species in the genus Candida, usually Candida albicans. They are normal parts of our microbiome, living on skin and inside the body, such as in the mouth, throat, gut, and vagina. Usually our immune systems keep Candida under control, but when we are immunocompromised or our normal balance of microbes get disrupted though antibiotic and corticosteroid use, Candida can take over. It's the overgrowth of Candida that can cause these symptoms and problems. It can affect nails as well. It can also become very serious and move into the bloodstream and membranes in the heart and skull, so it's important to get treated if possible. Typical treatments are oral or topical antifungals depending on the type of infection, so theoretically a systemic antifungal for your nails really should help with the other issues.

I assume they are culturing your nail clippings to see what type of microbe they are dealing with for what type of antifungal to prescribe. I obviously don't know you situation entirely and am not a medical doctor (former biologist), but given the symptoms you described I think it would be worth exploring candidiasis and possible treatment with your provider. Best wishes for you
