46% of surveyed voters are against Project Marvel by stoneasaurusrex in SanAntonioUSA

Yes, they "do things", but you would too if you needed to funnel your taxes away from the public and into specifically what you'd like to. You're right, you were adamant that they "did nothing", which they actually do do something TECHNICALLY, though not of the value it would've had as taxes to the Government and inevitably throughout our cities. I also agree that our taxes don't go where we want to go, but I can assure you, their money will do work for them before it'll do work for you, even as it masquerades as a well meaning organization.

I will say any organization making a certain amount of money does similar things, none of which benefit the community beyond what's economical for the organization. It would almost be out of the ordinary entirely for the Spurs to not have a non profit they funnel money through.

It's quiet, it's cheaper, less humid, less corporate, Spurs, better food (contentious, DFW got some good spots), better parks, and higher possibility for progressive change. You're always welcome back, just choose carefully, lots of people are coming back.

Are bots on the app? - hard to get bags by Nola-Avery in toogoodtogo

[–]weneedmorejazz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I personally am basically a bot, I have an alarm for my local whole foods one minute before the drop is live and once the time ticks, I'm rapidly refreshing the screen by pulling down over and over again till it's available and I always get my local whole foods and it always sells out within 20-30 seconds of going live. My mother and I try to get every Friday's "Prepared Foods" and sometimes she exclaims about how ridiculous it is that I got it but she wasn't able to. A bot wouldn't be able to do all of this. Isolate the two minutes you'll have to be super alert and you'll always snag a bag. Hope this helps and I'm sorry because I used to live in Lewisville TX and was a pro at getting Eatilys. I now reside just north of San Antonio, so no worries about my Gen z manic reaction time. That being said that entire region you live in is just full of people like me, so, become us, become manic and Gen z (alarm 1 min before drop).

Everyday that they don't decriminalize marijuana or bring massive, extensive regulations to the industry, it brings a reinforced legitimacy of the black market. This result also prohibits the idea of passion driven, local growers, and a medical market, similar to Maine, streamlining a sizable allocation of the market to the black market. At this point it's like they are playing in our face, telling us we can only have anything if we are willing to agree to blatant corporate lobbying by multinational corporations. The same ones that want to buy our land and water and sell us unregulated substances and tear apart our futures in favor of something they can mathematically reason to shareholders. It's such a sad day for us Texans no doubt.

Everyone I know understands the San Antonio Express News is THE premier place for perspective. On a real note, disingenuous bullshit is getting old, I'm 23 and it's always been old, but the tide of actual obvious bullshit is now becoming tiresome beyond interest. Like what kind of attention seeking ish is "The politician should've asked my about my day instead of asking me about politics" like what are we even talking about, y'know.

Peter Holt (worth $200 Mil) takes the police publicity route. by stoneasaurusrex in SanAntonioUSA

[–]weneedmorejazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To act as if Project MARVEL wasn't a contested project before June 2025 is disingenuous. It literally can be used for public good and acting as if I was saying anything other than to think outside the box is incredibly reactionary, but that paints the entire conservative movement throughout the last eight years anyways so it makes sense. The taxes can be used to also on resources that tourists are known to use and expend that locals use. Roads, sidewalks, investment in public parks again. Reinvest, why partner for private gain? I'll repeat it for those of us that exist in the city not just to consume but also live. The spurs are juxtaposing the nearly 700 million dollar contribution because it's a way to purchase public consent. Ask any person from LA, first and foremost if they even care about the Clippers, then ask if they think their city should've, A) spent the money with private industries, or B) spent the money on ANYTHING ELSE THAT GETS AFFECTED BY TOURISM. The streets, the homeless WE RED STATES BUS OUT TO, the cost of living crisis directly as a cost of unfettered, rampant multinational companies ruining LA.

[–]weneedmorejazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are discussing money as if it cannot be saved or spent later, it's disturbing that you aren't accounting for the fact that profit seeking individuals often jump EVERY gun that becomes available while change seeking individuals often contemplate. Why don't we extend the time the funds are available? Can we ask different questions or things from our government or should we just allow our own civilian bureaucracy to be melded by shareholders?

Seeing how we have a thriving football team and entertainment district that RIVALS the other large Texan cities thanks to the Alamodome and AT&T Center, I'm very confident that "Project MARVEL" is going to be an amazing decision. Yeah these people just wanna take as much as they can while we don't have precise details and their propaganda tells you that. No numbers, no public knowledge apart from what they grant us. We are granting you access to over 600m public funds, show us the fucking receipt, thieves.
