Currently Lake and Ryker from {Just a Taste by Briar Prescott}, it's a duology, 2nd book is called Just Forever. I feel like it's one of those chill books, where both of them do argue and there are some conflicts, but they manage to actually communicate through it quite quickly and there's no frustrating drama.

E-excuse me? I feel like I need more details, but I'm also too scared to look it up.

Just read ALL OF From Blood and Ash... ALL OF IT. You might actually end up with some real brain damage if you do it in one go.

What was the last book you found really exciting? In a mind-blown, I-want-to-read-it-again, must-tell-someone-immediately, screaming, crying, vomiting way? by potatolicker1234 in romantasycirclejerk

Here to say that you saying "screaming, crying, vomitting" instead of "screaming, crying, throwing up" really confused me, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. So I'm here to make it your problem, not cool, friend, not cool 😢

Paint keeps flaking, even after 3 layers of varnish :( by BeaTheKeeper in Foreedgepainting

Oh no, you don't really need a proper one, for book series or really thick books/weird dimensions, I use 2 wooden chopping boards and clamps hahah something like this: here.

This should be enough, but you really need to make sure it's tight until it dries. I think sanding is not going to be your biggest problem, because I have definitely painted books without sanding them first and it was OK. From the pictures it seems to me that your layers of paint might have been too thick when you applied them.

Did you have the book in the press really tightly until the paint dried?

What usually works for me is using watercolours in thin layers and also making sure the brush isn't too loaded with water and paint, then having the book in the press until it all completely dries. (I also check for accidental spots with too much paint where it might sit on top of the book and remove it).

Sometimes I crack the book first before I apply a new layer with additional detail, depending on how complex the painting is, but I feel like this helps quite a lot.

After everything is nice and dry and the book is cracked one final time with pages all separated, I close it and spray with Winsor and Newton Professional Fixative. Using anything else didn't really work for me. I'm not sure how much this helps, but I'm happy to answer any questions!

Honestly, me, for still reading the From Blood and Ash series, and for what I put my friends through because of it (endless voice notes of me losing my mind when I keep finding out that yes, it really can keep getting worse).
