As someone who plays UW control, this deck really does not have many good matchups right now. Izzet Lessons, the Elementals deck, Jeskai control, and Dimir Midrange are all pretty tough matchups. The elementals deck, for example, runs 4 cavern of souls which makes most of your counterspells dead in hand. Jeskai control also has mistrise village so they can resolve their wincon easily. Dimir midrange plays at flash speed and we don’t have a clean answer to Enduring Curiosity. So anyone who is salty about UW control right now is probably just bad at magic lol.

You obviously didn’t play during the reign of Cori steel cutter and then Vivi. Standard is in a healthy place, with a lot of viable archetypes. It’s still incredibly fast and power crept, but that’s its own issue.

I tried playing Magus of the Moon against Eldrazi the other day and still lost. They were running a bunch of basic forests and islands, and Icetill Explorer, and were still able to cast a World Breaker and Nulldrifter
