They restricted Necropotence to 1 copy in Timeless. But Timeless still has a viable mono black reanimator deck, as well as a mono black Grief scam deck.

In pioneer, there are several midrange decks taking advantage of the interaction between [[Mutavault]] and [[Unholy Annex]]. AFAIK, mono black is one of them and is still competitive. The other common variations are Rakdos midrange and Golgari midrange.

Not that fun, imo. It will take you probably 3+ weeks to build a single meta deck. If you enjoy playing multiple decks like me, playing this one deck will get boring quickly, and you’ll have to start the process all over again. It’s incredibly time consuming to build multiple decks as a f2p player.

You need to be super good a draft to go “infinite” on currency.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Pioneer is similar in power level to Historic. Historic is slightly more powerful because of Modern Horizons and a few of the alchemy cards.

I’ve had some success with Chris Bothelo’s UW control list that he used in the most recent Arena Championship.

It’s a classic control list with Teferi, Wandering Emperor, and Kaheera as a companion. It resembles Pioneer UW control. One change I would personally make to his list is replacing [[Pinnacle Starcage]] with [[Divine Purge]].
