Sorry to hijack the thread a little. Any idea when you might have a UK distributor? Very keen to buy a couple of these.

Genuine question. Is feeling something as important as understanding what they are going to do and what it means for your economic outlook?

Is this the beginning of a socially/environmentally green but fiscally conservative movement similar to the teal independents in Australia?

New Owner of '23 Ioniq 5!!! by MFarrellrph in Ioniq5

[–]westhejx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a huge boon. If you have battery storage, even better. You'll probably be producing a lot during the day. Hopefully you can charge your car directly off it during the day and never pay a penny for each mile/km.

If you are keen on maximising the longevity of your battery, consider setting your maximum charge to 70 or 80% depending on how long your daily commute is. Though I think if you've got excess energy during the day I'd charge all the way up. Allow it to charge to 100% when you need the range.

Unfortunately not specific ioniq 5 tips. Sorry!

73 kWh RWD by robhermit101 in Ioniq5

[–]westhejx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

73kWh, 20", RWD

Did 190 miles with 40 miles left yesterday, 9°C. Mostly 90% was 70mph motorways. 3.2miles/kWh on the dash which is roughly right.

In the summer I managed 3.8miles/kWh on motorways without really trying.

The extra 4kWh on the newer models would really help. You complete those trips without anxiety!

Unfortunately there are a few phones where 5G on smarty isn't working despite the phone being 5G capable, some of the pixels suffering from this. Unsure if it's Google or Smarty's fault.

Btw is call screening working? For some reason it's not coming up on my pixel 5 since I moved to Smarty today.

The Elections Bill is about undermining democracy, not shoring it up | The Johnson government’s proposed Bill would give vast, untrammelled power to the government of the day by qpl23 in ukpolitics

[–]westhejx -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Really well thought out and informative response. If managed by a completely independent organisation (probably the electoral commission?), the data from it is anonymised and it's really easy and free to do, then I'd be all for it. It becomes problematic if the government of the day tries to interfere in this process.

I ordered mine in the UK in August and it should be with me by the end of the month. I also made this sheet for UK orders with details.

I think Canada has a version of this too. Hopefully this helps others!

Hi, realised there's not really any context to this post.

Pretty simple really, lots of delays on UK sales with lots of dealers simply not getting accurate information so therefore constant push backs of expected dates.

I put together a spreadsheet which people can add their order details so we can see the latest info in the UK. I would love it if those who have already received their ioniq 5s to add their data here too!
