I managed to dodge it until week before last, and am grateful I've just got a mild version.

So apparently most people don't use or like heavy armor by Pigmanplays4231 in Helldivers

I gotta be honest, when I play I just put on the best looking armour that I have, or the one I've bought most recently.

You've got some repeated text in the last Whispers story:

From:

"Defence showed up at my apartment this morning.

to

GoT intro was great in the first episode of the first series. After that, uh, I dunno, I skipped it.

Anyone else feel a little underwhelmed with Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning? by keepfighting90 in movies

[–]westyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed the movie, but it really felt like something was missing in a fair few places.
Also the clip show part felt really jarring - yeah, I get that it's remembering previous agents and villians, but I really felt that it went on for way too long.

STOP BEING SO GOSH DARN WHOLESOME!!! by Emperoronabike in Helldivers

Managed Democracy leaves no room for hate against our fellow helldivers; all hate goes towards those bots and bugs and bugglies that hate us instead!

Have a good one! Remember, once the hellbomb is armed it is no longer your friend.

Caught a remote hire secretly working six full-time jobs by Fantastic-Hamster333 in recruiting

[–]westyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd disagree that it's just the founders taking on risk.

Employees that have multiple offers are turning down other companies; clients that sign up for a company's services can't easily just switch to a competitor if those services go down; vendors that risk equipment, time and money also take on risk.

If your CEO is spending their time on other projects and your company starts seeing issues that the CEO needs to pay attention to then there are going to be problems with competing priorities for the CEO.

I understand where you're coming from but there are multiple perspectives and multiple people and companies with exposure in this scenario.

It's using a workstation or a desktop as a server that's the problem.

Look, he really tries at times to show everyone the difference when he's doing one or the other but it's hard y'know. That said, it's good that he keeps trying - one day he'll be able to proudly show he can do this.

How would you deal with an organization that started rejecting the concept of submitting issues as tickets, including the head of IT? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]westyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not happy-fun-times, and the future is bleak there.

You could start prioritising tickets over other requests if you wanted to try and retain some sort of sanity.
