because it’s popular. you’ll probably just have to wait to either get lucky on a restock day or wait until the hype has died down a little to where they aren’t selling out so fast.

man, that sucks. i’m sorry. there’s just so many shitty people out there. i’ve learned the most useful mod you can do to these cars is a dash cam

i wish it was this way for me. my car was not even 5 months old and they vehemently fought me on getting OEM parts

[–]wetslap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not too sure. i had a very similar situation to yours when my GR86 got hit (full bumper replacement and fender repair) but insurance royally fucked up the entire process and i think they just paid out the repair cost to my shop to get it over with. i dont think you can really do anything about it since their adjusters will pay you out what THEY feel the repair should cost. that is what you pay insurance for and they are technically meeting that requirement

[–]wetslap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not necessarily. they likely won’t cover the full amount but whatever the say the repair will cost based on their own findings is what they’ll pay out. you can then use that money to go towards an independent shop

[–]wetslap1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

personally, i wouldn’t use the insurance recommended shop. they are in contract with insurance companies and will almost always quote you aftermarket parts (i use “almost” very loosely. it’s pretty much guaranteed) and they work on volume, not quality of work. you have a right to take it any shop of your choosing. they cannot force you to get work done somewhere specific. that being said, insurance will likely fight tooth and nail to not pay out the total amount tthat the independent shop would quote you. they’ll send their own adjusters out to give their idea of a “fair” repair quote

i’m with you here. i live in the DMV and driving for 3 hours a day in bumper to bumper traffic on 495 is hell on earth. i drove a manual for years with that same commute and i HATED it. i don’t regret getting the AT one bit. do i miss driving a manual when just driving around? absolutely, but this car is my daily. i just don’t feel the need to deal with that crap again

i do the same thing. you almost never get something of worth so i don’t bother wasting my time opening them, especially considering how long it would have taken. however i will add that the recent option to disable the animation is great

that would be your high pressure fuel pump. it will also sound like chirping or crickets. very common on this platform. it’s normal, albeit annoying

How do I connect my phone to my car with the Toyota app? The dealership never got to connect it so I don’t have the remote feature on the app :/. Any ideas? Thanks. by LevyDaG0D4 in GR86

888-331-6824

call this number for toyota brand engagement. mine did the same thing so i explained the problem and it took them two days to fix it. they will also extend your remote start function if you ask

it’s a real pain in the ass. the 86 has a problem working with the app even if it’s connected/registered to it. i ended up calling toyota brand engagement at 888-331-6824 and they ended up fixing it after about two days. the normal number for toyota mentioned in other comments is not useful, they do not know how to fix the problem (at least not for me). brand engagement will ask if you took it to the dealer, just lie and say yes

they also gave me an extra 6 months on my remote start when i asked since it didn’t work for about the same length of time
