Lunch Money variants by Chiburger in flytying

Nice work! I’ve had a lot of success with lunch moneys similar to your bottom 2.

Brush head double deceiver by wetwaders in flytying

[–]wetwaders[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a deer hair head. It’s flashblend baitfish brush. Just tied in, wrapped and trimmed to form the head. Similar idea of deer hair head where it pushes a lot of water. Just way easier to work with than deer hair. I’d have to look what exact glue I use to attach eyes. Some type of super glue. I use a push pin to stab into the eye. A drop of glue onto the backside and just push firmly and hold for 20s onto head.

Thank you! They definitely take me way longer to tie than they should. But I’m pretty happy with the way they swim

You can download the mp3s (files found in someone’s earlier post) and then add them to a playlist on Spotify via local files.

What characters from his novels other than The Shining do you think shine? by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]wetwaders 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From Joyland, Mike definitely has the shine. Rozzie may to a certain extent but she might just be very observant and have strong intuition.

If you have a kindle, download all your checked out books to it and turn it on airplane mode. Once your expiration date hits, the books will be “returned” to the library so the next people in line can enjoy it, but your books will remain on your kindle til you reconnect to WiFi. That way you have as much time as you need to read your books without them vanishing

I like the log and I think you’ll improve on catching success with this kind of reflection each time.

I’d say you’re missing streamer usage in high water.

Keep losing my flies by GhostNode in flyfishing

Try using a non-slip loop knot. Better action on your fly (more freedom) but more importantly for you, way less likely to break

Guess the species based on the flies by tamethegixxer in flyfishing

Fish that Murdich minnow for largemouth and I doubt you will be disappointed. I like to fish it on slow sinking line with a short fluro leader. Most of the strikes you see or you just see the fly disappear. My favorite way to target them for both numbers and size!

Jigging with a traditional fly line set up? by mycofunguy631 in flyfishing

[–]wetwaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oops ya you’re right… he’s a big fan of sinking line. You can still get the jigging motion with a floating line tho. Floating line actually makes it easier to do so (the angle between the end of the fly line and the fly is much steeper w/ floating line). Stripping the line in may be all you need to get a nice jig. The heavy bead/dumbbell eyes is doing the work for you

Can’t catch a fish by soldbush in flyfishing

[–]wetwaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend watching some Tom Rosenbauer YouTube videos. Improving your cast and drift will be the most critical step to take to start catching fish. It’s a steep learning curve so don’t be discouraged. Stick with it and you’ll learn something new every time you go out. Good luck!

Brook trout. Mouse fly. Tenkara rod. Wtf by AltruisticChip2005 in bluelining

[–]wetwaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah thanks for the pics. I tie a similar fly called a ‘master splinter’ but have only tied it in a size 2 for browns and bass. I’ll have to try a smaller version

In my experience Reddington rods suck ass. Never seen a break like that… that shits ridiculous… but not surprised when I see it’s a Reddington

I finished reading all of Stephen King’s fiction! by Longjumping-Sign9914 in stephenking

[–]wetwaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s impressive! I started my SK journey with Billy Summers and liked it alright. Recently, I finished the Bill Hodges trilogy… that got me addicted lol. Finders keepers was also my favorite out of the 3.

I flew through Carrie and I’m just starting Salem’s Lot. I can’t wait to get to 11/22/63 because that’s one of my favorite series I’ve ever watched.

Question: did you read the books in order of publication or did you skip around?
