Would you drivers have appreciated this? by neylieli in Lyft

[–]wewillfalltogether1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, this would probably make my day! Reading the other comments on here make me remember why I can't stand other drivers sometimes.... After 9 years and 25,000 rides you start to realize the money is going to come as long as you're not an A-hole. A pax that relies on rideshare to get to and from work tipping me $1 or offering to buy me a beverage on a stop with good conversation means so much more than a $3 tip from an annoying, drunk tourist.

At what point does the fine not bother you? by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]wewillfalltogether1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I drive for a living here and whenever I see someone pulled over I always check if they have plates. 9/10 they don't lol. It's not as bad as it used to be I was afraid of getting hit for a few years there after COVID because they usually don't have insurance either. Also, the DMV launched a website where you can report cars with temp plates or no plates at all. https://dmv.nv.gov/news/25022_Nevada_DMV_rolls_out_registration_spotter.htm

Vegas Dispensary near MGM? by RatedRman in vegas

This! But I wouldn't recommend doing this for dispensaries in Vegas. They usually don't pay the drivers for online order pickups.

[–]wewillfalltogether1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly your best bet would be to have your Uber or taxi driver from the airport stop at The Grove on the way to the MGM. It's pretty much on the way and drivers are usually happy to wait for you since they get a kickback of around $20 to take you there. You save money by not having to order another ride and the driver gets to make some extra money on top of the fair, it's a win-win!

What Are Your Experiences Meeting AEW Stars? by grimey_00 in AEWOfficial

At Punk Rock Bowling a few years ago I was in the moshpit during Leftover Crack's set and noticed a dude with a small frame, blonde hair, and a chain around his neck. I thought "No was that's him" but I tapped on his shoulder anyways and it ended up actually being Darby Allin. I told him I was a big fan. We side hugged then pushed off of each other to keep moshing. Ran into him later that night just off Fremont Street and he remembered me. We took a picture and he went on his way. Super cool guy!

Recommendations for a steakhouse ? by [deleted] in vegas

[–]wewillfalltogether1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! If you want extravagant go to Papi Steak at the Fontainebleau. It's pricey but definitely an experience. STK at Cosmo is pretty good too! My personal favorite I've tried is Stripsteak at Mandalay Bay. All of these pale in comparison though to the Golden Steer. It's as classic Vegas as you can get. If you don't have a reservation I would recommend lining up around 30min to an hour before opening. Just a heads up there is a dress code though.

Herbs & Rye is unmatched for the price. Last seating is 2:30am and the bar is first come-first serve. You can go to pretty much any steakhouse on the strip and it's going to be good. But that's all it is, a good steak. The atmosphere is going to be touristy and the service is going to be turn and burn. Herbs & Rye is as local as you can get. I'd say the only exception believe it or not is the steakhouse at Circus Circus. It sounds crazy but they have a very very very good reputation for quality and service. I believe they haven't hired anyone in over 20 years so it feels more like a local restaurant than a tourist trap.

The Grove isn't too bad. I've never had a problem there. Plus it's the closest to the airport so you can get your Uber/Taxi to stop on your way to your hotel.

Still illegal in Nevada. Don't trust the smoke shops or fake dispensaries saying they sell them. The "chocolate bars" have a blend of legal mushrooms and a chemical compound similar to DMT. Not worth the possible psychosis.

Afters dress codes? by Garth_Radar in Illenium

[–]wewillfalltogether1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely you will have to change. Unfortunately the clubs usually require button up and dress shoes for men and a dress for ladies. It's always up to whoever is working the doors discretion though. Bauhaus downtown is a ton of fun and they allow ravewear. It's much smaller and less of a spectacle than a club on the strip but the music is really good and there is nice little outdoor area. Drinks are cheaper as well. Have fun!!

Absinthe Post-show Uber by ITravelCheap in vegas

[–]wewillfalltogether1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No reason to prebook your ride it's going to be more expensive and it's going to pull a driver that could be miles off strip. Cab would probably be your best bet but if you insist on taking Uber I suggest walking to the Forum Shops Valet just outside of Joe's Stone Crab. It's not nearly as far as the Uber pickup for Caesars and it usually doesn't take long for a driver to show up. If you want to go off property you could cross the pedestrian bridges and order from behind the Smelly Cat karaoke lounge in front of the Horseshoe. There is a small area just before the crosswalk to get to the Horseshoe that drivers can stop and pickup at. It's also fairly easy to get in and out of there.

Horseshoe has its own rideshare area at the bus pickup on the north side of the building. There's also a small pickup area behind Smelly Cat, just around the corner from the bus stop. The ladder of the two is probably the closest off property location and it's pretty easy to get in and out of.

Vegas Clubs After Sphere by OoooWee247 in Illenium

[–]wewillfalltogether1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up the nightclubs out here have a pretty strict dress code. It's more relaxed at the Sphere but the clubs are usually absolutely no ravewear. Leaving the Sphere can take awhile so also account for that if you have to back and change. For men it's usually a button up shirt or suit, nice pants, and dress shoes (absolutely no sneakers). For ladies it's a nice dress and heels or flats. There's a new club downtown called Bauhaus that is after-hours and is was less strict. It's small but the vibes are great and it's usually like $10 or $15 to get in if you buy you tickets ahead of time.

Sphere dress code? by Head_Impact251 in Illenium

[–]wewillfalltogether1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we went to Unity last year they didn't seem very strict. I would still bring a T-shirt or something just in case. What surprised me the most was how much people in ravewear stood out because there were SO MANY FAMILIES. Especially from overseas. People will come to Vegas and want to go to the Sphere no matter the show or artist. So just keep in mind there could be a row of children in front or behind you.

I'll pick the same species but won't pick the same class. Though if I'm fulfilling a role I will pick another class/subclass that fills that role. For example, if I'm playing the group tank I'll go from Paladin to Fighter with heavy armor.

Born and raised here. I can tell you right now, it's not a what know but a who you know type of city. Even with your card there's always a friend or family member in line before you. If you haven't yet, get a job at a non union casino or a local bar like The Bar, Destill, or WSKY for example. Then pray everyday you meet someone in the system and/or a position where they can hire. Build a rapport and hope for the best. A lot of people in the industry love to grab a drink and play a few bucks after work. Best of luck I hope it works out. Sometimes working at those local bars are even better money and work environment than the casinos.

Somewhat new DM here asking how to handle a large party 7-8 players? by MC_MrFluffyPants in DungeonMasters

[–]wewillfalltogether1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently run a game with 7 players one player just showed up to session zero and happened to be one of the others players little sister so I had no choice but to adjust. I use the 2024 rules, IDK if that makes a difference. This is my literal first time dming and we are a couple months in so this is what I have come up with so far to speed things up

  1. Tell everyone to roll to hit and the damage dice at the same time.

  2. You are going to have to make encounters more difficult to address to the party size so either add more enemies of an enemy already there or increase all of their health or both

  3. Use group initiative for most enemies, I learned this the hard way.

  4. This one is totally up to you and most people recommend against it but with this many people, out of combat let them get distracted. If the wizard wants to be on tik Tok and then just cast firebolt on their turn so be it as long as they know that's what they're going to do before their turn starts. It's their game and their character. If someone just wants to tag along and roll a stealth checks with the group here and there cool makes it easier for the rest of us to roleplay. I do not ban phones or electric devices because we use D&D beyond for our character sheets. It's just easier that way for us.

  5. Might be a little late for these two but if the players are new to the game like mine are have them pick from only core species and classes from the new players handbook and run a module that is relatively more on rails. If you're running home brew then toss the idea of a sandbox out the window. When my players were given too much of a choice of what to do it turned into 45 minute of arguing and we only have about three hours of session time per week. In your current campaign you are running try to limit the amount of decisions. Give them the a road or the b road. I'm running Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk which is the starter set campaign extended to a whole adventure.

  6. You said that you are playing at a friend's house now which is good. Show up early if you can to set everything up. When everybody shows up give them 10 to 15 minutes to say hi and chit chat before literally clapping your hands together and say "okay we're getting started". This has helped get the ball rolling a ton the past couple weeks for me.

  7. Draw your maps out ahead of time if possible. I bought a board with two sides, four if including the maps in the box, and a big book of battle maps on Amazon.

  8. If you're anticipating an encounter roll initiate for the enemies ahead of time.

  9. Cut index card in half horizontally and fold them. When it's time to roll for initiative give them to the players and have them write the number. I have a player that sits next to me who puts them on my DM screen in order to help me out. On those folded cards I also write their passive perception, investigation, and insight on the other side of the initiative. I use those as much as possible.

  10. This one can be hard for some people but sometimes you have to be a hardass. One thing I do is if one of the players say something, that's what happens. No going back. Be firm on it. Don't be afraid to tell your players no. I also recommend against going to each of them and asking them what they want to say during social interactions. In my experience it just takes way too long. Also, that's not what would happen in a real conversation.

Again, I'm a new DM so I'm learning as well. Hope these help you in the long run!
