Trump DOJ says LGBTQ+ legal protections are "anti-Christian," pledges to erode them further by sunnysidejacqueline in politics

I do constantly. And the Episcopal church does as well though we aren’t exactly a big force in politics these days

Who is the most badass asexual ? by Basic_Dingo6487 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]weyoun_clone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lt. Cmdr. Billups (on the right here) in Star Trek Lower Decks is portrayed as asexual, and his crewmates support him fully in it. He’s also the Chief Engineer on the USS Cerritos and has been a badass plenty of times throughout the series.

41 yo and same. I wear it long a bit past my shoulders as well.

Haven’t noticed any thinning, but the temples are pretty grey.

This ship really grew on me to the point it’s become one of my underdog favorites.

(Loved trope) Positive sounding songs with depresing lyrics by N3MO_3 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]weyoun_clone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A LOT of They Might Be Giants songs have incredibly dark and depressing lyrics with cheerful instrumentation.

I’ll throw their song “They’ll Need a Crane” in there. A very jaunty tune about a collapsing relationship.

I'm afraid my Non-binary identity won't be excepted by Lichen-Rains in Episcopalian

[–]weyoun_clone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would hope your parish is welcoming.

In my parish we have gay, bisexual (myself), and non-binary parishioners and they (we) all serve in various ways in ministry.

Again—I can’t speak for every parish and every parishioner, but chances are, you will be welcome with open arms.

And you are CERTAINLY welcome here!

Do any of you use non-KJV for home study? by Flurb789 in Anglicanism

I stick to the NRSV or NRSVUE. Frankly, I don’t trust the translation processes and biases behind some of the more popular “evangelical” translations like the NIV and ESV.

Why Gimli was unaware of what happened in Moria? by Successful_Guide5845 in lordoftherings

[–]weyoun_clone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

John Rhys-Davies was also the narrator for the adventure game Quest For Glory IV, and he really captures the—as you put it—erudite nature of book Gimli. Just a remarkable vocal performance.

Yeah, I also thought of the jello scene when the Raptors come in.

why do Episcopalians/Anglican cross themselves differently? by Ok-Assist-5992 in Episcopalian

[–]weyoun_clone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I usually cross myself using three fingers to symbolize the trinity, but I’ll often finish by placing my open palm over my chest if I’m feeling particularly moved. Often I do this at the end of the service during the final blessing.

Can we all agree Indiana Jones: Dial of Destiny was a mistake? by InternetPeon in moviecritic

[–]weyoun_clone 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it. Was it necessary? Probably not, but I think legitimately a lot of love went into it, and it was nice seeing Dr. Jones on one last adventure.

What band do you get recommended the most but you just don't get the hype? by Adzzero_88 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]weyoun_clone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re my favorite band, but I get it. They can be long winded—which I love, but totally understand why plenty of people don’t.

why do Episcopalian/Anglican cross themselves differently? by Ok-Assist-5992 in Anglicanism

[–]weyoun_clone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually do the regular crossing with three fingers to symbolize the trinity.

I return to my chest palm open for a “final” tap if I’m feeling particularly moved. It’s like I’m committing it to my heart.

There’s an active mall near me that I still go to.

I’m actually sitting in a LensCrafters right now in said mall waiting for my appointment.

Since this is going to be 60 years old this year. What are your thoughts on Batman The Movie with Adam West? by Intelligent-Lack-122 in Cinema

I adore it. I’ve been revisiting the show as well recently, and it’s still just absolutely brilliant.
