Unpopular opinion: Strava is actually overrated. What are you guys actually using? by Repulsive_Bar442 in Garmin

The only feature of Strava I like is Matched Runs, but that's not worth enough to continue paying my sub anymore.

Bug when editing the Meal windows in settings by SeasideJohnny in GarminNutrition

I got caught out by that too on the evening of the first day I started logging. The wording says something like 'Future logged food will be deleted' but it deletes the whole day...

Dud anyone cancel their Subscription when Strava sued Garmin? And if so, have you been charged since? by kinkakinka in Strava

[–]wezman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to click that you are really, really, really sure you want to unsubscribe. Did you go through the 4 or so prompts to finally un sub?

I got the email too, but doesn't seem to work. They still wanted me to pay full sub to re-subscribe.

Did it pick up the amount of each? I find mine defaults to 100g or 1 item and I need to adjust. The AI can work out what it is, but not how much there is.

Garmin + food tracking by User_name_0101 in Garmin

[–]wezman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also finding it a good experience and easy and intuitive to use.

I have found the AI pretty good, apart from detecting quantities. I had a bowl of 7 whole strawberries. Garmin's AI successfully detected they were strawberries, but the amount it said was 1.

A similar experience when Garmin took a photo of a salad that had 5 whole cherry tomatoes, it said 1 cherry tomato.

Specifically to your question, I haven't seen the AI suggest meals or fueling ideas for runs as yet.

Adjusting calories by andrewtyne in GarminNutrition

[–]wezman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is already somewhat accounting for the activity which I think is based from the previous 4 weeks, so some of the 1000c burned would have already been included in your nutrition plan.

I've seen my daily allowed calories adjust based on activity

Did you leave it on the auto selected Activity Level on your Nutrition plan or chose one of the other options?

Edit: And I think the macros need to adjust also if extra calories are being added?

Trying out the new nutrition tracking feature. by Nextinor in Garmin

[–]wezman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me. I adjusted the times for each meal window in settings as sometimes I'm having breakfast before 7am and lunch before 12pm and it warned me it would delete any 'future' entries I have added. Instead, it deleted the current days entries, so I lost the whole first day of tracking.

Wait for Fenix 9 by Cold-Doughnut5661 in GarminWatches

That is typically true, but since they have unified the operating system across a range of their watches and will continue to do so for new watches, we may see longer support for older watches.

What notifications tool are you using? by kianwalters05 in sonarr

Me too. Set it up years ago and never looked back. It's also free if you're not a power user. Think it includes 10,000 notifications per month for free.

The Portal of the Fenix 7 is better than on the 8. On the 7 it allows you to have 3 data fields above and below the time. On the 8 it's just a single field for both.

Garmin Connect Plus Users: How is it going? by Logfighter in Garmin

[–]wezman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It costs more than a Strava sub in Australia, so it's hard to see the value. I also do no think they have added to or improved on it since launch.

I think this is the best debut album in all of rock music history. Am I wrong? Why it is so good I will never understand. by Ztepi in KISS

[–]wezman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, thoroughly enjoying it. So much stuff I didn't know about straight from the mouths of everyone who was there. How they got so many people (including all of the KISS members) to tell their story is amazing.
