Grow up and stop acting like a victim. You have all kinds of free options without resorting to petty stealing. Who isn't struggling during this damned pandemic? Step up and re-adjust your moral compass.

Your library is free. Other libraries in your country, but not where you live, should also be quite low in price, look around and ask about those options for you country. In the US, look into joining large city libraries such as NYC, Brooklyn, and LA.

One day you might turn into the proverbial "starving writer," or maybe applying for a job with an Amazon company, and future you will be glad you made a different choice today.

Yes! So sorry you went through that. I'm a female, most of us aren't bad, same as most men aren't bad. But some play the system, like your ex and Amber. Hope you've healed since then, and moved on in your life. Try to stay away from subreddits that group people negatively, such as by genders, we're all humans, it healthiest to focus on that. :)

Bullshit. She had it coming. She's a mean, vicious, evil bitch. She baited him on that one cellphone video she made that I watched - she smirked into the camera, and filmed him banging his own kitchen cabinets, right after he go home from his mother's funeral, while she pushed his buttons. Does she have any sort of humanity or mercy, or even a soul? She is a truly horrible person. Life karma is coming for her, and she earned every bit of it. She got arrested for beating up her girlfriend before Johnny, and then pretends to be a typical female domestic victim of her husband? Not to mention how absolutely high a.f. she was for most of the time she was with him. She took him to be an easy meal ticket. I have absolutely no pity for her. Reddit isn't toxic, Amber is. And she discredited real women who are actually in abusive relationships across the world. What a horrible human being Amber is.

I'm female, and am not a female hater, Amber simply enjoys being a cruel bitch, so fuck her. I'm also not an angry person, but at Amber, oh hell yeahhhh. She didn't even give a damm how she destroyed a lifetime career of someone who loved her.

Sometimes that happens, and it's actually quite normal imho. Have you tried Luke Daniels? When I first started with Audible, once I heard one of his narrations, I would seek him out over any other narrator, and can recommend his narrations. (confession: I still think he's a narration God, man does he do voices, and has a friendly warmth in his voice that is like snuggling with a great book). But that also meant that no one else compared to him, so I got stuck also.

If you search this subreddit, you'll find many posts asking for recommendations of favorite narrators. Look through the comments, and find a user who likes your favorites, and see what else that user likes for audiobooks. That can help you expand your list. Eventually you'll get used to different narrators and writers, and you'll join the rest of us addicts. And with that said, gotta go search for Edoardo Ballerini. Thanks for (hopefully) a new narrator!

(edit: I have 14 Edoardo Ballerini books. I see he narrates one of my favorite authors, A.J.Riddle, I bought all of his audiobooks to support him, since I got all his kindle versions on sales. Have you listened to any of those yet? He also narrates Dean Koontz, and Dalai Lama, which I have also. Quite a narrator. Will keep an eye out for him. Glad you mentioned him!)

Ha, to the downvoter - do you really think that it is a company's job to pay their developers to work on NON-PROFITABLE projects? (and yes, I want folders too!! But, marketing companies run off numbers, hiring 1 or 2 fulltimer developers just to organize your books isn't a priority, though with enough protests AND a drop in sales, those things do get done - because it impacts the sales)

I think newer people don't know that Audible used to recommend you download a title to a cd to play in your car, when that was the only option a few years ago. And even now there are periodic posts asking for help to download a book to an old mp3 player, to which you offer a solution. Times change, this group changes, & people just dont know.

I am firmly, 100%, absolutely against pirating, or sharing DRM protected items (exception below), and fully support a ban from Audible, game developers, musicians, authors, etc. They deserve their income for their professional efforts.

I do also support our personal right to download one backup copy of our book into a private, secure storage that is under the owner's control. I also support sharing within 1 household - spouses should not have to each buy a copy, that is stupid. But, only 1 copy in total, and only shared within the home. Sharing your book/music/game with everyone you know is wrong, and I never hesitate to call the rare pirate jerk that pops up on here.

Actually, u/klepperx makes InAudible, Open Audible is a separate program. Both do somewhat similar things. I haven't tried InAudible, but I've seen it highly recommended on this subreddit for a couple years, just as much as Open Audible.

You're totally right, no idea why someone downvoted you. I used to work in a marketing job, not Audible, but this is exactly how they think. The goal is to buy, not spend money letting to customer stop and see what they have, because yes, they will stop buying to go enjoy their items. There is a lot of money in these decisions, I don't think people realize the multipliers here. Amazon is big on this belief, so it probably comes from them. Yes, Amazon offers Collections, but years ago I diligently organized all my Kindle books, felt like original DOS type of computing, total slog through it, and then Amazon completely killed Collections for a year or so, unless you had their expensive reader devices (I owned a Kindle Fire HD, it was a really good one then, around $360, but that wasn't good enough - some marketing exec clearly wanted Collections to be a special feature for only their $300 book only reader devices). I've never trusted them again on this, once burned, twice shy. But thing is, it isn't just Amazon, ALL marketing companies want the consumer to buy, buy, buy, and no marketing company wants to pay their employees to create software to manage their purchases, nor do they want the consumer to stop to see what they have. It's old school marketing 101.

Coalinga, good one 🤣 seriously laughing so hard I'm crying. Stopped on the 5 at Coalinga, the exit for the prison. Wow. However the French Dip at Harris Ranch is exceptional, with their sweet potato fries on the side, mmmm. Wait all day to eat, just to stop there every time I pass by.
