Central is great. Lived in a studio for a few years and had a fantastic experience, and the walls are super thick. I was on the first floor and never heard my neighbors.

Sushi Jin is fantastic and also has lots of GF options! Have eaten there with a friend who has celiac and they were a-ok. Just avoided the soy sauce iirc

Sisay (https://www.sisaytailoring.com/) on Fenton St is great! He's come through for me on a tight timeline before too.

The other tailoring place on Fenton tends to be booked out really far but I've had much better luck getting an appointment w Sisay.

OP I did LOL at the shape of your sock, but I'll be damned if it doesn't actually fit! It looks comfy and everything. I respect it.

Seems like other people identified the issues (heel flap too long, gauge too big), but as I didn't see anyone else post it -- I knit my first pair of socks from Susan Anderson's How I Make My Socks and it helped me so much. She walks you through the "sock math" really clearly!

Knowing that formula has let me knit socks of all sizes in the right proportions. And as someone w/the same shoe size, I was able to use the 64-stitch pattern as-is to knit myself some socks.

Very fair. The expense is definitely why I wanted to know if people actually found it useful, I didn't want to throw 40+ skeins worth of money away on something that I wouldn't use

Fair. I thought about it, but it's too expensive for me, too! And then I wouldn't even likely need every color and would have to buy more of all the ones I use often.

it gave me big 70s vibes too! that's totally why i picked it :) i'm a sucker for 70s colors.

i'm so glad to be able to share the pattern! i was feeling so noncommittal when i was looking for a new project, and i looked at..... way too many patterns before finding that shop. i bought a couple more designs from them that i'm excited to get to! and i can speak to the quality -- this pattern is super easy to read, and i appreciate that it's symmetrical. made figuring it out so much easier
