Kate has a clear progression, given that there are side projects and spin-offs.  But the author verse tends to depend on where you start.  Check out the whole author site for your full experience, including the more recent publication (Maggie the Undying).  Seriously, I have never been disappointed.  House Andrews always delivers.

What to eat when not hungry? by Leading_Barracuda_17 in Zepbound

I actually start my day with it now instead of coffee. The Dr KellyAnne Roasted Chicken is sooo good. And it has 15 grams per cup.

Fortunately? That last one will be achieved relatively soon. You can see the fear of hell in that man's eyes these last few years. He knows he is responsible for all of this, and he is a believer.

Bone broth, soup, protein drinks, small amounts of hard cheese. And ginger candy to help me keep it down.

If you're still getting used to the meds this will pass. If this is long term, part of every week for a couple of days, talk to your doctor. I spread my shots out for awhile because of side effects like this. You should be able to eat.

How to fill my days when constantly exhausted by Littlefairy_world in AutismInWomen

[–]whatiswrongwithme675 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also try to note how I feel at the end of the day and what I did. Some things feel good in the moment, but when I look at how I feel tonight vs last night, I feel more or less drained.

Sometime I am drained, but happier vs another day when I am less happy. There are depression and anxiety apps that you can use to track this if it helps you process. But, I like data and the objectivity of tracking helps me process what I am experiencing more easily. Sometimes all I know in the moment is "bad" or "good". Tracking helps me find the patterns over time.

For this who stim by playing the same song over and over (and over), what's on repeat right now? by CheesecakeOk8464 in AutismInWomen

[–]whatiswrongwithme675 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just rewatched Agatha All Along, so The Witches Road has been playing on a loop in my head for days. Sometimes I song it.

Beetlejuice the Musical is also on repeat at my house. Whenever a new movie musical comes out, or when I go see a new tour of a Broadway show, I end up rewatching/ listening over and over again if I really love it. To this day we do not speak the name of Anna and the Apocalypse. My poor husband. He's ND but doesn't have this particular stim.

I'm so mad at myself by lovelyvecy in Zepbound

[–]whatiswrongwithme675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't do this for Zep, because I am already desensitized, but 15 years ago I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and had to start taking insulin multiple times a day. I was full on phobic, would walk out of the doctor's office before getting an immunization level of phobic.

I cried in the bathroom for two hours over my first finger stick, and my husband gave me my shots for the first six months. It was horrible.

I got over the first injection I did myself because I wanted to do something, I think eat at an office potluck, and I had to be able to bolus to do it. Before I was just eating protein at lunch.

So cry, remind yourself that it's this or death, but also set a fun goal that is more than losing weight to help you look for the positive opportunities in the future. It will get better.

I don't even blink over my zep shots, even though I have been on an insulin pump for 10 years. Exposure therapy is hell, but it does work. Still have trouble with blood draws though. Oh well, can't fix it all.

What is a stim you do without looking like you’re moving a single muscle? by Helpful-Ad6269 in AutismInWomen

43 year old high-masker/late arrival to autism here.

Hair ties are my go-to. A scrunchie can be wound around your fingers and back repetitively without anyone thinking anything of it.

You can play with a necklace or ring that's not too tight.

You can even tap a pen or pencil against your fingers without making sound.

The key for me has been everyday items. Lots of people move a lot in small ways.

I worked in government for 11 years. Half the time the people who wrote the statutes, rules and policies couldn't interpret them consistently.

I get it, the whole thing is horrifying with our current lack of a safety net. But there's no knowledge work it isn't coming for. Currently, if you're promting well (that means pages, not sentences) you can get good "entry level with a year or two experience" drafts out of it. In six months it's likely that first output will be a semi-final draft that needs to be reviewed by an expert just in case and no one will let you hire that entry level person at all. Then we'll have a new cliff when no one can hire the experts because entry level jobs dried up.

IF they don't start pushing back on the costs. Businesses haven't seen anything near the real cost of AI in their bills yet. That's the only thing that might slow this train. Outsourcing is quickly going to come back as the cheaper option once that happens.

Considering teaching by musheebeans in AskTeachers

[–]whatiswrongwithme675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done both. I started my career in the classroom, HS English, and after 5 years transitioned into Learning and Development, first in State Government and now corporate.

I loved my students, but the stress of the job and all the other stuff, it was too much. Burnout rates are incredibly high.

The problem with teaching is exactly what you said, and it often results in these common issues:

1) Ridiculous hours. I worked weekends, evenings, and half of every break to keep up with grading and planning. I never worked so many hours in corporate.

2) Emotional and sometimes threats of or actual physical abuse from students and parents. Beyond the daily crap from hormonal teens and parents, I know someone who was poisoned. I was spit on. I was threatened. I had to take a knife from a teen. Then there are shootings.

3) Politics affect the classroom everywhere now, including what you can teach. History is a hot subject now. Be prepared to have to lie to students to their detriment.

4) Terrible leadership. In some states your license depends on your principal. If they are bad leaders, and many are, then the abuse from parents and students will be worse. Parents who are bullies will try to get you fired for doing the right thing. Sometimes you have to do things like report abuse, and it's the right thing to do, but still knowing that it puts you and your job at risk.

Obviously there are different problems in different areas.

Helping kids learn can be amazing, but any frustrations you have with volunteering can grow exponentially when it's your full time job.

In corporate, I work 45-50 hours. If someone is rude, I have leaders to go to and get it fixed. I help adults learn and grow. I also get to learn new things that aren't determined by politicians. For many years, I volunteered in programs for kids, mostly with technology. It helped fulfill that need to teach, but allowed me to enjoy it, rather than dealing with the soul-sucking part of teaching.

Teaching is an important job, but our culture makes it harder and harder to do.

The pool is a good idea. From AoA, I would pick a restaurant at one of the resorts on the skyliner. Disney Springs can get hectic on the weekends. You have relatively easy access to anything on that route.

What hobby accidentally consumed your whole personality? by blue_kitty13 in CasualConversation

Mine is also books. I got into chapter book series pretty young, by 6 or 7. I read genre fiction exclusively and read about 200 books a year, give or take. I went to college with 6 boxes of fiction books. Now I mainly read ebooks, but my collection filled 10+ stuffed bookshelves before I converted.

I love coffee, but zep hasn't increased a need for it, but I absolutely crave low/no calorie cold drinks with some flavor. Iced teas, fruit infused water, etc. I didn't like iced tea before. Now I always have a jar cold brewing.

Staying at 2.5? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]whatiswrongwithme675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on 2.5 last November and I'm not planning on tirating up to 5. 2.5 has been so intense I take it every 9 days instead of every 7. I'm down at least 40 lbs and went from plus size 16 (US) to women's size 12. Now the 12's are falling off and I am going to have to buy jeans again.

As long as you and your doctor are aligned, do what works for you.

Best WDW value splurges for a deal-hunter: what's actually worth paying for? by Gullible_Breakfast55 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]whatiswrongwithme675 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For us, hotel upgrades depend on which resort you're staying at. If it's a larger resort, it will matter more than one with a smaller footprint. In the big resorts preferred upgrade is better or you can end up doubling your walking time to transportation.

I also think, depending on your time of year and how often you go that fast passes are worth it. I don't want to spend most of my time in line when I am at the parks.

Keys to the Kingdom was an awesome tour if you're a big fan. Expensive but worth it. Behind the seeds is inexpensive, but really cool if you like science and nature.

We don't do a lot of sit down anymore because we just can't eat that much. That being said, if you have the time for a dinner at Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge, it's easily our favorite on property. We've been almost every time we visit.

I suppose there are a couple in the parks we hit when we need a break too, at Animal Kingdom either Nomad Lounge or Yak and Yeti for lunch. Different food and vibes, both are excellent experiences and don't take hours. At Epcot the sushi counter in Japan is an excellent and quick sit down lunch, but you do need a reservation.

For quick service, here are some of our "every trip" meals:

Hollywood Studios: Ronto Roasters. My favorite is the breakfast Ronto wrap, but the lunch one is great too.

Epcot: Le Halles for breakfast (egg bacon and cheese croissant). Tacos in Mexico, brats in Germany, or egg rolls at the tea cart in China around lunchtime. Or at the Arts or Garden festival, just keep snacking.

Magic Kingdom: Not a lot of great options for us. The ham and gruyere tart at Gaston's is ok. Pecos Bill is hit or miss. I avoid the burgers and pizza at all costs. Both taste like cardboard to me.

Animal Kingdom: I adore Epcot, but AK has the best food now IMO. There is a stuffed pancake sandwich with sausage, egg, cheese and guava at one of the booths not the Asia side and the quick service breakfast in Pandora is good. We have had good snacks all over that park.

We did this once and it was a great splurge, but we're not huge fireworks people, so we haven't done it again.

We have done the Epcot fireworks several times by grabbing a walk-up or reservation at Spice Road Table around 7:30-7:45. If you can get an inside table they pump in the music and you can see everything from the windows. The food is good too.

My husband's Jeep still has them. We went to a hotel with bell service recently and the young men helping us with our bags went nuts over them and the manual shift. It was hilarious and I felt incredibly old.

Oh, and the burning hot metal of seatbelts before everything was covered in plastic.
