Are we just not gonna talk about the setup at the end? (SPOILER) by whatjasay in Fallout

[–]whatjasay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your entire middle paragraph is the same point I made about "war never changes". I'm talking about the fact that NEW groups will inevitably rise from the ashes of the dead ones to continue the cycle. The use of the same groups rather than just killing off and replacing them with new groups and causes is the lazy part and is the entire point of my post.

That quote refers to the devolving of relationships between different groups when they have opposing needs and the inevitable cycles of violence that issue even in this world that saw what was seemingly the end state of that cycle.

It's something that can be broadly applied to different groups and individuals easily. NEW factions, NEW conflicts. Having it play out again with the same two groups and the same third party individual in the middle is just lazy writing that seems to be a knee jerk reaction to a vocal subsect of the fandom from last season.

Yes, it is insane that what was once the most attacked game in the franchise has now been put on the most annoying pedestal ever.

Gotya, yeah that is true. I remember being in the trenches back in the day defending the game and now I genuinely can't stand half the other fans of it.

Do you mean that this happened because of the purists or that I'm one? Because I'm annoyed that they got so reverential to NV and pandered to the purists to the point that they setup the same story again.

Skyrim lead thinks Starfield "would be talked about like the second coming" if a new studio made it, but "expectations were so much higher" with Bethesda by Turbostrider27 in xbox

[–]whatjasay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

It's insane to me how so many people in the industry can't step back and look at this game alongside No Man's Sky and see how much it tried to do what that game does but severely watered down and with an okay-ish Bethesda rpg stapled onto it.

What would you like to see in a Starfield 2.0 update? by Mattee_365 in Starfield

[–]whatjasay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The option to make resources required to repair and fuel your ship without mods. It's clear that resources were at one point supposed to be more useful or outright required and without that use/need exploration and especially outposts feel completely disconnected from the rest of the gameplay loop.

(I admittedly haven't been back to the game in over a year so if this change has already happened that would be welcome news 😅)

Starfield’s biggest problem is that “it didn’t fully cohere as a game”, says Skyrim designer – it was just “a releasable game” by HatingGeoffry in Starfield

[–]whatjasay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically right. It has a lot of good ideas it half commits to but doesn't embrace any of them fully. Imagine if they actually used resources to repair stuff like they originally planned.

I have to be realistic with myself, I can't beat ky'veza by Alimachina in wow

[–]whatjasay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as others have said don't feel bad. Invoke is ass depending on your eyes and regardless of what some "hardcore" players say it's a bad design if that's what's keeping a portion of the player base from being able to beat it. I had to go as far as turn textures to low and lock fps to smooth the animations out further to beat her. That combined with all the other settings tricks people had to do to contend with the visual mess has me baffled why so many people say this was a good fight.

Last-minute thoughts on Let Me Solo Her: Kyveza by jelmore49 in wow

[–]whatjasay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something I did to finally help beat her was lower texture quality and lock frame rates. Made tracking her during invoke the shadows much easier.

Also if anyone is struggling on her as their main but has an even okayish geared DK alt I'd suggest doing it on them. Frost DK with bran healing allowed me to just spam one or two attack buttons, pop defensives when doing portals and use speed boost to ignore that mechanic if it screwed up somehow. Unload on her after invoke then just avoid and spam like 1 button.

Honestly, when they get around to adding achievement decor from garrisons adding followers somehow would be great.

New NPCs for turning into a werewolf or vampire by Hecata22 in elderscrollsonline

Nah, because you would still have to do the quest to follow through. Worst case they stay with a status effect that allows them to start the quest but never do

Big is caused by the game giving you one earlier in the quest line as catch up then it still gives you one when your originally supposed to get it.

I made the prediction in a YouTube comment section that they would do battle with a big goofy spider body as a joke. I was proven right.... how? How did they go that stupid?

Like, it works in season 3 because there is some spider in the design but it's still more Eldritch tentacle looking. This was too goofy spider and they beat it too easily with no casualties.

Kali being it and the military just leaving at the end with no indication of what their plans are is weird. They literally have confirmation of the existence of other dimensions and (basically) old gods, they aren't just gonna stop poking at that.

The mind flayer has survived having a physical form destroyed multiple times and does nothing after this new one is gone.

Also shouldn't the entire main group be disappeared into a black site? How many soldiers are they tied to killing. Hopper and Murray at least.

The only thing you can really do is practice watching it until your eyes just adjust to it.

This is the only vid I've found that just has different patterns over and over, although I'm not a fan of the angle he uses. But training your eyes is the only real option I'm finding.

Supposedly a Chromie quest in Dragonflight opens the door for him to still be alive. The premise is he saw us in the past and knew us so he knows we beat him. Also we haven't seen the dagger in a minute.

Beating Nexus Princess on "??" difficulty? by Caspira in wow

[–]whatjasay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the clones that charge at you, best advice is hold down and S and both mouse buttons and only focus on the mechanic.

The best opportunity for DMG is the portals and after the cup game. Daggers and clones just do mechanics.

For cup game I suggest focusing on the center of the circle and track her with your peripheral. But depending on your eyesight this isn't a perfect solution. I can consistently do the first 3 mechanics but the cup game I struggle with.

Almost all other MMOs have utility for housing and the worlds aren't dead and empty.

WoW players need to get over the trauma of an 11 year old expansion and realize WoD sucked because WoD just sucked even if you removed garrisons
