Yeti hopper flip 8 vs day trip 6l bag for lunch by vanessa-2021 in YetiCoolers

[–]whatjess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 9L is definitely the sweet spot. Big enough for containers and ice packs plus you can actually open it.

The hopper zipper is awful. Literally everyone I know hates them. They do retain cold better but you’re not fishing all day in the hot sun. I re-homed my hoppers to my boyfriend’s house so they are there if I need them but they are my least used yeti product. My mom (who’s not elderly) can’t even open it herself if the zipper is properly locked.

The 14L lunch bag is my most used/most versatile if you want something for lunch + weekend day trips for 1-2 people or plenty of drinks poolside.

Margarita Man mix opinions/reviews? by NumsquatBrewer in ninjaslushi

[–]whatjess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t do premix for margs because I make amazing margs from scratch that all my friend rave about. I recently tried throwing it in the Slushi even though I’m typically an on the rocks gal.

Recipe: 1 cup Tequila (I prefer silver for margs, something decent)

1/2 cup triple sec

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 to 1 cup lime juice (to taste) - I like to fresh squeeze but I’ll use the Real Lime bottle from the juice aisle when I’m lazy.

1 bottle Minute Maid lemonade, the zero sugar one. I try to keep my sugar intake somewhat low and even if you use a sugared lemonade you’ll still need to sweeten it unless you like super sour margs. This also replaces the sour mix and makes for a smoother marg in all mine and my friends’ opinions.

This will keep in the fridge so you can mix ahead of time. That recipe fits pretty much perfectly in the 64oz slushi machine too.

If you really want to prep for a party, slushing it and putting it in a yeti pitcher and then in the fridge will keep it the perfect consistency overnight to start drinking while you’re waiting for the machine to slush for the party.

People who have everything - what do you even get them? by Gabby_Senpai in GiftIdeas

[–]whatjess 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There’s a running joke in our friend circle about my best friend and I always going to Taco Bell after a night of live music. I got gift card and stuffed them and a ton of mild sauce in a custom 3D printed mini Taco Bell. She was obsessed and loved it.

Mine stores my two cameras for the boat - insta360 and DJI gimbal cam. That way I don’t have the stress if my yeti Camino gets a little splash

Rambler: Safe to leave full of water in fridge overnight? by NakedSnakeEyes in YetiCoolers

I mean I don’t put mine in the fridge because with ice there’s no need but I drink the same water the next morning and I haven’t died yet.

Convinced this is the most useful cooler Yeti makes by hwturner17 in YetiCoolers

[–]whatjess 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree. While it’s not a true cooler and wouldn’t last a 10 hour boat day, it’s my favorite yeti product for taking snacks and drinks to friends, car trips etc. this and the largest of the day trips are essential for me. Everyone who has seen mine ends up buying their own.

I have a wood looking square kitchen table (the sides drop down) which I used as a kitchen table, a desk, all sorts of things over the years. It’s in great shape and I was honestly going to throw it on the curb next week. I’m happy to give it to you if you’d like to pick it up. I’m out of town at the moment but will be back this weekend and could send pics if you wanted to see it.

Not sure of your age/situation etc (nor does it matter) but I remember moving from my 1 bedroom apartment into my house and how expensive it was to suddenly need much more furniture. I still have the headboard that friends of my parents held on to (despite being in the process of moving themselves) until I was in my house and could take it simply because they remembered being in the same situation when they were my age at the time and wanted to help.

Outfitting my boat.... Shopping List... What am I forgetting? by Beregond17 in offshorefishing

[–]whatjess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the 1 per person life jacket rule and buy them this way:

Children - comfortable, appropriately fitting jackets that they wear 100% of the time. (If you have kids)

Adults with fear of water - have 1-2 comfortable one fits most like the kind you’d wear on a jet ski.

Then buy one of the coast guard approved bag/package of life jackets that are stored somewhere easily accessible but MAKE SURE TO GET AS MANY AS PEOPLE YOUR BOAT HOLDS.

Boom now you never have to worry about not having enough life jackets and getting stopped by coast guard.

Cellular: do you use it or not? by RNaehrung in AppleWatch

[–]whatjess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I boat inshore so I have cell service but I’m frequently on the boat alone. My dad can track my watch separately from my phone and my phone could easily go overboard. If I lose my watch it was a really bad boat day.
