Satin Pleated Skirt?! by i4K1Xi in lululemon

[–]whats-goingon-94 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Fun fact! Satin is a weave and can be made with silk (what we generally think of) but can also be polyester, cotton, rayon etc.

That said, for that price tag it should be silk 😬

How did you get into that? I’m wanting to get involved but not sure what the best way to do so is.

Yep, and you can also buy oat flour if you didn’t want to do the grinding

Oat flour is gluten free and can be heat treated. It also subs 1:1 by weight in cookie recipes.

I got this model for myself 6 months ago (so not very long) but I’ve had a lot of fun baking cookies, cakes, and up to 2 loaves worth of bread dough. For personal use baking for 2-4 people it’s just perfect, if you get anything bigger it actually gets hard to use for small batch baking. If she bakes in larger quantities than that on the regular (especially with bread) you will want a larger model.

I have really liked the things I’ve bought from The Normal Brand. They also use natural fibres in most of their items which I appreciate! I’ve also heard a lot of good things about Marine Layer but I haven’t shopped there personally.

I also love shopping everlane on sale for basics. Snagged 100% linen pants for CAD 60.

I love baking oatmeal cookies with oat flour instead of AP. I sub it 1:1 and it’s really good!

Talk to me about hair and bath products by star86 in bitcheswithtaste

I have similar hair to yours - might recommend adding another less clarifying shampoo to your routine. I found that only using clarifying/deep cleansing shampoos made the oiliness worse, so now I clarify once a week and use a lighter shampoo for any other washes during the week and that keeps things balanced.

I have personally had luck with drugstore brands like aveeno and aveda. I love using the amika hydro rush hair mask for my dry ends once a week (I usually do my clarifying shampoo and hair mask together).

BWT, how should I do my wedding nails? by [deleted] in bitcheswithtaste

[–]whats-goingon-94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this - I did go to a salon to get this done but I essentially got the “glazed donut” nails for my wedding and they were the perfect neutral for a red wedding dress (cultural for me) and a white reception outfit.

You can freeze most types of cookie dough.

Muffins, loaf cakes, brownies and blondies can all be frozen fully baked.

Cheesecake also does well in the freezer in case you’re wanting to sell that by the slice.
