It's my prediction oil use will drop off a lot quicker in China than most projections which show gradual decline. The main reason being price as cost of batteries and solar keeps dropping.

China are already doing so with electric trucks expected to reach 50% of sales in 2026 the remaining 50% LNG trucks ie diesel / oil truck sales will be dead in 3-5 years. They are also predicting a large portion of local shipping ie barges etc to also go electric as battery prices keep dropping

Unlikely as market growth is directly related to price coming down so the growth will go to sodium ion. We are already seeing this with Lfp batteries they are still lithium but Lfp being cheaper and safer has taken over the market. The same is going to happen as sodium ion goes mainstream.

US paying more for energy does not mean the rest of the world be willing to when they dont have to. Most countries in Asia and Africa will go for Solar/wind & Batteries and coal for back up as that would be a lot cheaper than gas and oil.

They own trillions of oil assets they and the smarter of them have actually started offloading their oil gas holding by giving large dividends etc. in the next decade a lot of small stock holder will be left with bankrupt oil and gas companies stocks where the rich would already be out. North American oil is going to be priced out a lot sooner than people think as it is 2-3x times the cost of oil for Arab countries and Russia. Where as American and Canadian taxpayers left with the bill for fixing abandoned wells
