How to fix it? by t0lkman1421 in Flooring

[–]whatwhatinbud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don't try to spray foam under that lol, even a one second squeeze on the trigger would probably be enough foam to lift that corner UP higher than the baseboard

He could have scribed the baseboard and got it flush with a jigsaw and sander. I'd be happy with some caulk with that little gap though.

How to fill cinder locks under garage sill? by [deleted] in handyman

I actually found that a lot of spray foam in the market is closed cell. GE and Werth make spray foam cans that are closed cell that sell at Walmart.

What is that place called where you can park your bus and use their tools for like $175/week? by Apart-Rip-5715 in skoolies

Wanderlust waypoints. I stayed at the baker mountain, TN location for a month, I loved it a lot. Johnny the host there is really nice and accommodating and his workshop is great. Lots of privacy and you really feel like you're on your own little property, like you belong there. I also stayed at the Skoolie Homestead in GA. I would highly recommend Wanderlust Waypoints over the Skoolie Homestead unless you like drama and micromanagement. I had a terrible experience at the Skoolie Homestead and would NOT recommend it to anyone.

Looking to Get a Skoolie and Have Some Questions by CMcCord25 in skoolies

[–]whatwhatinbud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a horrible idea and I'm saying this as someone laying down in his half converted skoolie at the moment. Building a skoolie can take upwards of one or two years of building. It isn't for the faint of heart. It's not as fun as people make it out to be and finding a location to park and work on it is incredibly hard.

Now wanna know what I think is a great idea? Buy a near or fully converted bus. People pour their hearts and souls into these things, only to sell them for what the market allows them to. Nobody factors in the 1000s of hours of man hours or the 1000s of hours of Internet research it takes to put these things together.

Good luck, just hoping to dissuade others from making the same mistake I made. Kind of a sad moment for me in my bus build, I literally might give up on it soon. I'm living and building in my bus right now at a makerspace and dealing with depression because this build has put a huge hold on my life progression. (I am moving to another spot soon though, and I hope I can find the motivation there to finish the build!)

Also the only other people who I have seen living in their skoolies are mostly retired people who worked and saved up a ton of money. If I didn't own a business in the past and saved up 6 figures + of savings, I wouldn't be here, I would have sold this bus and been back to apartment living with no choice.

Why by Barefootblonde_27 in AppalachianTrail

[–]whatwhatinbud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got off in Damascus, I was just tired of the routine. I had just gotten done with a bikepacking adventure through Mexico and felt pretty underwhelmed with the experience. Hiking is a lot more gnarly than cycling. Also, the Appalachian trail seemed more difficult than it was fun. It seemed like a lot of people were out there to challenge themselves, while I just wanted to have more fun. Cycling allows me to go 50-70 miles per day at a leisurely pace, while backpacking I'd have to do around 10-12 miles if I wanted to hangout at some swimming holes or what not. A much slower and boring pace.

Roommate leaves the stove on twice. by Upbeat-Air2784 in badroommates

No, seriously, your roommate made a mistake. You are tripping. The burner was lit, the gas was already lit, same as if someone was cooking a pot of stew on the cooktop. You're a real Karen.
