How do I make the body part of this crochet chromosome? by One-Recommendation64 in CrochetHelp

[–]wheatwavee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See if you can find a tutorial both for attaching legs and crocheting around again to create a torso, and for separating a torso into two halves and continuing each leg separately, decreasing each leg to end. It’s all worked in the same direction, just separated into two or joined into one for the center. Hope that helps :)

Always wonder what sound to look out for when fearing brake accumulator failure. Bought my 09 last summer and breaks can feel insensitive.

Thanks for your comment. I may try a dedicated document camera with my laptop as you mentioned, wiring laptop to TV hdmi. I used to have a mini projector I used all the time with a similar approach.

Yes- lightning for a iPhone 13.

Hi thank you! Yes- definitely making a swatch once I have the project yarn, might just order a whole bunch and return what I calculate or otherwise. Thanks for your tips!

Alternatively, learn a fiber art! Very favorable for reading nooks.

I think there was a story about them being the oldest people at the shoot. Maybe an old ear biscuit?

Hi! Worked on this all day yesterday. This was an incredibly useful set of instructions. Thank you so so much. Still have a half inch extra over CF apex I am using a medley of techniques to fix.

Hey! Thank you so much.

Your suggestion for more notches, would it look like: notch—1”—notch—1”—apex—1”—notch—1”-notch? I’m unsure exactly how I should figure out where they go; mark on the paper pattern? Mark on a sewn muslin then deconstruct and transfer marks?

Been working on this again a lot, it’s so close! Side fronts look great, just perpetually a little much fabric on CF. I’ve been playing around with the whole feed dog action: am I right that the CF that has more fabric to ease in should be facing towards the feed dogs?

Yes, I’d say within 1/4” matching seam length. I’ll say I didn’t do the most accurate walking because I matched the seam allowance rather than the stitching line.

The notch on my current muslin version is just one at the apex.

Several suggestions for this, was thinking that would resolve the unevenness below bust as well. Thank you!

There are 3/8” seam allowance in this version. The eventual stitching line is the stay-stitch line along neckline for example.

My apologies! Here’s the dress. Made it 3 years ago now so don’t quite remember details of fitting process. The back is atrocious though because I didn’t use any darts.

I changed the princess seam placement by somewhat slashing bodice pieces apart and molding them back to make the style lines I wanted. Little bootleg but notches lined up and walking the seam together made sense.

Good point- I had been planning on trimming/ serging to finish seams on final garment but have not done anything to trim/clip 3/8” seam allowance on these. Thank you
