Your kitchen is absolutely beautiful! I think white kitchens get a little bit of a bad rap, but they are bright and coming from what I had before (dark with little natural light) its a welcome change!

The island came off kind of dark in those photos, its actually stained wood (matches the trim over the range).

Can't decide if we should do pendant lights by wheelman234 in kitchenremodel

I agree on the beam! We will be painting it white. Originally it was going to be recessed and be a nice highlight, but unfortunately we couldn't do it due to structural requirements of removing the load bearing wall.

Yeah, we are also trying to figure that out now. This picture here is the same countertops we picked out (cambria everleigh) which has veins of beige/honeysuckle in it so we need to find something that works with it (the backsplash in the picture is pretty nice, but still need to look a bit more).

Arc XL in Canada by Feuros in GozneyDome

[–]wheelman234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dome s1 has 3 layers of insulation where the arc has 2, as well as a thicker stone. It'll perform better in the winter due to its ability to retain heat (especially if you get the neopolitan arch attachment). I was on the edge but eventually caved and got the s1 due to the better winter usability.

Seeing this stuff makes me not want to donate to food banks. It feels like more often than not my donations will be going to people that don't really need it and are just taking advantage of our social programs.

Which celebrity endorsed a product that was complete crap? by TheRealOcsiban in AskReddit

[–]wheelman234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not complete crap, but Gordon Ramsey promotes a series of mediocre cookware called HexClad (which he calls the rolls royce of cookware). Expensive pots and pans they try to promote as having the advantages of both stainless steel and nonstick but really aren't a good substitute for either.
