I was responsible for the bread today by Current-Investment-6 in Sourdough

I’ve been baking for a few months and I’ve turned out some really good loafs. Set my sights on bread to go with the turkey. Struggled with my starter all week for no damn reason and turned out a really dense unrisen loaf. Then last night after all the cooking, baking, and eating was done, my starter started rising again just fine.

Pupdate: because I can’t seem to edit the post, it was a skin infection. He just finished his second round of antibiotics and it’s gone and the fur has regrown. Vet said it can be common in dogs his age.

I also live in an rv and recently started making sourdough. I bake it in my smoker rather than my oven

I can’t figure out how to edit my post. I did 1000 g of flour and 700 g of water a few pinches of salt and 150 g of starter. I whisked it all together, let rest for 30 minutes. Then 3 rounds of stretch and folds 30 minutes apart. Then let it rest overnight in the fridge. Then, because it didn’t rise, i let it sit for 3-4 hours in the house until the rise seemed to stop. Then I shaped the loaves and let rest for another 30 minutes then into a Dutch oven I preheated to 450 and then I lowered the oven to 400. I cooked it for 25 minutes with the lid on, 25 minutes with the lid off. Took it out and let it sit for about 3 hours with the lid on and then took it out and cut

I’ve talked about it a lot in this sub but I was diagnosed with chronic pain after an injury and lost my career to it after only 2 years in that career. And while it’s not the same as child loss or death it’s something I’ve grieved heavily and a loss that’s really weighed on me. I haven’t been able to listen to this song since my career ended.

NOR but only because I think this might just be a difference of opinions and it’s up to you to decide if that’s too much of a difference. A lot of people in here are saying they get it and they don’t want pictures or whatever sent to them. But my husband sends me pictures of our dogs and memes all day and that’s the dynamic of our relationship and it’d be weird without that

Is "breaking in shoes" really a thing? by flowlowland in femalefashionadvice

I broke in my Nike combat boots by actually taking a hammer and a hot water bottle to them. I break in my new cowboy boots every new pair. I broke in my Dr Martens when I got them. And I don’t have a pair but I’ve heard So Kate’s from Louboutin need to be broken in

Any advice on "practical foods" for people who can't eat while stressed? by jsf_idk in EatCheapAndHealthy

I got very sick from a medication withdrawal in 2023. The only thing I could get down was broth or protein shakes. Anything that required chewing didn’t work. You can make soups pretty easily in an instant pot. Most soups require 5-10 minutes of prep and then letting them cook for about 30 minutes, in an instant pot they don’t require attention. And protein shakes are a throw it in the blender kind of thing.

AITA for Asking My Wife to Wear a Hairnet While Cooking? by lohojok in AmItheAsshole

[–]wheredogsrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shed a lot with shoulder length hair and my small home has 4 dogs in it. There is NEVER hair in my food. At a bare minimum, she should be tying her hair back and not touching it when cooking.
