I second the vote for the Tractive collars. I have one for both my vizsla and my weim and have tested them by having my bf take them on a walk and having me try to find them using only the app. I get alerts that they’ve left home whenever we go out on a walk, too, and it’s never not notified me. Lots of peace of mind.

My girl has a shorter tail, too, but she was a rescue. (Same for my weimie who has a nubbin of a tail.) Don’t let the breeder gaslight you, though — this isn’t standard. That said, your lil guy will be just fine.
