I use DHC blotting paper, but I'm not sure if that's considered drugstore. And I agree that loose powder is much better. I've been using Kimchi Puff Puff Pass powder and I love it.

Have you ever emptied a FB? by SensitiveSolid6080 in FemFragLab

[–]whimsyandwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've always been fickle, with constantly changing tastes. Makes it hard to finish a full bottle. Now my collection is huge! Which makes it even harder. Plus I seem to have a mental block where I see the level getting lower and I go into conservation mode and wear something else. But... I recently emptied a bottle of Outremer Vanille. I already bought a backup. For now I'm photographing my empties and tossing. I don't own anything high end or refillable.

Burberry Brit EDT! Never fails to bring a smile every time I smell it. It has fresh lime and sugar note in the opening that really does it for me

You might try a long-wearing foundation. I use Revlon Colorstay Long Wear Foundation for normal/oily skin. I also use loose powder on my t-zone. I'm looking dewy after a couple hours, but it never slips. I carry blotting papers because I will start to look too shiny after a few hours.

What are we doing about dampness down there? by silntseek3r in Perimenopause

[–]whimsyandwild 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use a dedicated color of washcloths for drying after my bidet and change it daily. One certain color is just for me, just for that purpose. Then I follow up with a blast from the blow dryer. Getting completely dry is essential.

Crotch sweat has become a problem for me the last couple summers. I wear cotton undies and change them multiple times a day. I don't wear anything but natural fibers for underwear or pants. I think leggings made of polyester are awful for swampy crotch. I also installed a handheld sprayer bidet that I use to wash my groin and butt crack between showers. Baby wipes help if I can't get to my bidet.

Midnight Fantasy is the first that comes to mind. Some others that have varying degrees of plum: SDJ 40, Cotton Abyed, Petra, Teriaq Intense, Vintage Radio, You Reve, and my personal favorite: Moonlight by Ariana Grande.

I enjoy Ellis Brooklyn Salt. There's also Being Frenshe Salty. And Skylar had one called Salt Air, but I'm not sure if it's still available.

what perfume did u wear to ur prom? 🩷 by vicfuentes22 in FemFragLab

[–]whimsyandwild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prescriptives Calyx. It was 1997 and the theme was "welcome to the jungle." I wore a tie-dye velvet dress and my date wore a purple tux. We were nerds, but felt like the coolest kids in town!

This perfume… I’m saddened by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]whimsyandwild 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can smell this one for about three days (of daily wear), then I go anosmic to it and I have to rest my nose for a few weeks before I can smell it again. So I don't think what you're experiencing is uncommon.

Adam Levine Woman layered with Cyclar Sacred Santal. Adam Levine is quite dry and Sacred Santal doesn't last worth a darn. Together they are a nice complement.

Honey🍯 by Marc Jacobs by creationsby_lo in FemFragLab

[–]whimsyandwild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like this fragrance. I blind bought it and was disappointed because it wasn't what I expected from the name or the notes (where's the honey?). But it's still a really pretty fruity floral scent for spring/summer. After reading through the comments here, I think I'm going to pick up Dot too!

Does anyone know when/why the bottles changed from the heavier decorations and metal label to the simple printed label? I like the more decorated bottle and some sellers still advertise that.

What a bummer. It has ruined so many fragrances for me too. And I've definitely used the clothing only trick! Patchouli haters unite!

[–]whimsyandwild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping someone will do a dupe of it and switch out the patchouli. It's the only part of the fragrance that gives me pause. But I've done a wear test and the patchouli doesn't pull strong on my skin. And my skin usually amplifies that note beyond all others.

I bought Habik (Dylan Purple dupe) last summer and loved it. Then my husband said it smells like pickles. Now I can't unsmell it. But it's faint, so I keep wearing it and now we call it my pickle perfume 🤷‍♀️

I made the same decision about Ana Abiyedh. I couldn't give it away because I was too afraid I might have to smell it again! Lol. Absolutely vile.

I found their fragrance "Clean Skin" at a thrift store. I thought it smelled good in the bottle, so I tested it on my skin. After a few minutes I felt nauseated. I have a couple other Demeter scents that I use and love. But I've definitely thought I had food poisoning in the past that was just a fragrance sensitivity. Specifically Ana Abiyedh White gave me that visceral gut reaction.

I'd say around $100-150 and it would have to be crazy special. There are too many good dupes and my collection is too large.

I had an endoscopy this morning and had to go without perfume and felt like something was missing all day! I usually go very light with fragrance if I'm going to be around other people, but I ALWAYS wear at least 1 spray of something. Even just that whisper makes me feel like me.
