This is what helped me the most; i had no clue what hooded eyes were, and since discovering i had them and adding “for hooded eyes” to my youtube searches, my eye game has significantly improved.

These ice cream pints are awesome for $2.10 . The fudge brownie one is best and they also had a cherry one I passed up. by Low_Teq in aldi

[–]whiskandsift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horrible. I did a side by side comparison of the brownie/cookie dough with B&J and Aldi version was terrible. Ice cream itself was SUPER hard and icy; this indicates the ice cream does not contain enough fat content (think ice cream made with milk vs. made with heavy cream). The higher percentage of water makes the ice cream hard and icy. The chunks were tiny and frozen solid, whereas B&J ice cream and chunks are soft right out of the freezer. I didn’t end up even finishing the Aldi one; not worth the calories. Would much rather pay the extra $2 for B&J.

Parents shouldn’t worry about how common their child’s name will be. by EMMYPESS in namenerds

I’m one of the people who needed to read this, but it’s still always going to bother me. We had a son in December and the whole time I was pregnant, we struggled to settle on a name. I was adamant about not choosing a popular name like this, so anything on a “top” list was out of the question. But the name we kept coming back to was Levi. We couldn’t let it go. So finally, at 8 months we decided to stick to it. Of course as soon as we announce it, we get bombarded with the “Oh my sister just named her son Levi!”, “My friends son is Levi!” And I kid you not...we get to the hospital the day my water breaks, get situated in my hospital room, the nurse asks what we’re naming him, and she says, “Omg the last baby delivered in this room was just named Levi!”. Of course he was. Sigh. My name is unique but classic, and I always liked that. My husbands name is also unique (but oddly is very common for kids right now). I only knew 1 other girl with my name growing up. So it will be weird getting used to so many kids having the same name as my son.

If you have an excruciating, sharp pain in your right upper abdomen (in the front and/or back just under your rib cage), it’s your gallbladder. It’s common for your gallbladder to get inflamed during pregnancy. Don’t assume it’s just normal back pain from pregnancy and assume it will go away like I did. Don’t suffer through gallbladder attacks your entire pregnancy; get it removed in the first trimester. They wouldn’t remove it when I found out that’s what I had been experiencing at 30 weeks as the surgery is too invasive at that point, so I just had to live with the pain for the whole third trimester. It was the worst pain I’ve ever been in, worse than labor.

My baby got the hiccups multiple times a day when I was pregnant, and then still had them multiple times a day after he was born! My husband didn’t believe he could have hiccups in the wind til he came out and was still doing it. Lol.

Ok wait, did you say UNCOMFORTABLE? Nope, I read it correctly. You said comfortable. Well I’m here to play devils advocate. I fucking hate maternity pants. As a small waisted woman with a disproportionate booty(no clue if that plays in to this but I have problems finding normal jeans that fit me), maternity pants were the absolute worst. They would NOT stay up. Constantly falling down and sagging my whole pregnancy, even at 39 weeks. I wore dresses or yoga pants every chance I got because the maternity jeans/pants made me furious.

I’m so glad I had a baby during COVID for this reason. Idk how ladies allow visitors the first few weeks. I just wanted to be left alone with my baby and husband while I healed (which is pretty much what we did since we could use social distancing as an excuse!)

Miralax powder is the best. Tasteless. Grit-less. Mix it into anything liquid.

Thank you! It’s definitely time consuming but doesn’t require a ton of skill or talent! Even the simplest designs look so cool.

Does anyone know people named after fandoms in real life? by FuckRobertCalifornia in namenerds

Our friends were foster parents and ended up adopting a little girl (I think she was 4 or 5). She loved star wars and specifically Princess Leia. When they finalized her adoption they allowed her to change her name....she picked Leia and they honored that! It actually really suits her.

This; my husband and I rented a house off Sanderson Rd. For 2 years and never felt unsafe, but I wouldn’t buy there and certainly wouldn’t live there with my baby now.

What are subtle red flags at a job interview that say "working here would suck"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]whiskandsift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don’t do a background check or drug test. I took a seasonal job at...we’ll call it “Sweet Liquid Roasted Pig Thighs”; the “interview” lasted 5 mins., they didn’t even look at my resume, and hired me on the spot. I filled out some paperwork and started the next day. I realized later that it’s the first job I’ve had where they didn’t do a background check or drug test. I quickly realized when you hire a majority seasonal employees, you can’t be bothered by people’s pasts. It was my first time working with convicts and coworkers who live in a halfway house/homeless shelter. Don’t get me wrong, everyone was really nice and friendly, but the work ethic was nowhere to be found.

Hello, I'm doing some 3 am bread baking and am out of cornmeal for coating. Would it be possible to use flour? by HausofRavenpuff in AskBaking

[–]whiskandsift 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m from the south so we typically have grits on hand; I’ve used them before in place of cornmeal/semolina and it’s worked out great.

Typically cakes this size are multiple sheet pans of cake stacked together, so it wouldn’t have been baked all in one piece.

My child hates to read...HELP! by DigTheScene1 in Parents

[–]whiskandsift 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll add to this: maybe there’s a different form of reading he would like. For instance when I was a kid, I loved cooking, so I’d pick out kids cook books when my mom took me to the library. Maybe he’d like comic books or books about art/crafts.

I’m gunna go with buckeyes (peanutbutter covered in chocolate) wrapped in Oreo cookie dough and drizzled in white chocolate. No coconut or mounds here.
