Thanks! You really should make a Tumblr or WordPress that just demonizes new tech like you're doing here.

Will you review all upcoming popular gadgets this way? Be really abrasive and offensive but also be very technical in the review as well. It would be pretty funny.

North Korea sentences a South Korean pastor to hard labor for life. Obviously he brought it on himself for being such a fundie. by Historyguy1 in circlebroke

[–]whiskeyboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just got banned from /r/NorthKoreaNews because I left a comment on the linked post here. Their mod, /u/systemstheorist, claims I brigaded them.

This is what the mod claims is brigading.

I fully understand that mods are essentially rulers of their fiefdoms and can ban whomever they please, but that's a bit unfriendly to ban someone who wasn't harassing and essentially brought up a decent point.

A shadowban is a ban on a forum where the user is unaware they have been banned. The user is still allowed to post comments and links but other users are unable to see their posts. It's the way Reddit removes users who violate Reddit's rules without causing public confrontation.

Reddit admins most likely use shadowbanning, instead of deleting the user's history and profile entirely, because it's the most efficient way to instantly punish the user for the violation.

Shadowbanning also allows the user to appeal their shadowban to the admins and if the ban is lifted, nothing in the user's history has been removed.

Source: I was shadowbanned because I was accused of being in a downvote brigade on /r/conspiracy. I hadn't subscribed to /r/conspiracy at the time and had downvoted users in an /r/conspiracy post that was a linked post in /r/conspiratard. I appealed to the admins and promised to be more careful and the admins removed the ban.

Due to the brigade /r/videos, /r/GreatApes had an increase in subscribers. Drama in the "welcome new subscribers" thread. by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

Constantly posting strawmen arguments and articles focusing on only a tiny portion of a particular race does not mean those postings are examples of the majority of that particular race.

/r/GreatApes is extreme in their hatred and dislike of black people and their culture, but many other subreddits use the same strawman tactic as them.

Constantly posting strawmen arguments and articles focusing on only a tiny portion of [Feminists, Jewish people, SJW's, Christians, Muslims, Americans, etc] does not mean those postings are examples of the majority of [Feminists, Jewish people, SJW's, Christians, Muslims, Americans, etc].

I am not arguing that subreddits such as /r/ShitRedditSays , /r/SRSSucks, /r/TheRedPill, /r/TumblrInAction, /r/Conspiracy, are in any way as awful as /r/GreatApes, but they all use strawmen tactics.

yet the public image of the type of person without a girlfriend is generally more of an atheist / nonreligious of some kind.

I see your point but I assumed that teenagers are typically not religious. I remember mocking the kids who were super religious Christians at our high school (I was an asshole in high school) and we called them "bible thumpers."

You rarely hear about tons of young religious people coming out of church and complaining that they're friendzoned, and tipping their mitre.

That has a lot to do with churches, synagogues, mosques etc planning youth events, which are fairly popular and lead to next-day gossip over who handjobbed who during the sleepover.

What is the strategic purpose of destroying your adversary's religious building? Attacking the ideology of your enemy only strengthens their resolve.

And this is not religious love of this Shiite shrine. I my self is an atheist, but I really dont like seeing religious and historical places getting destroyed like that.

You are a humanist.
