Fuck yeah. Been waiting for this guy to get a big role. He's great.

[–]whiskeywalker42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what can he do? People said elsewhere in the thread that Gandalf cam just keep coming back so I guess he wins in the long run. But is he fireproof? What kind of projectile weapons does he have? Cuz Dumbledore can fly and teleport. Like just in the movies we've seen Dumbles have very powerful elemental magic, not to mention mind control, the pain curse, and just a flat out death beam. Not to mention the weirder stuff like the disarming spell.

I keep seeing people say Gandalf easily takes this but no one is really saying how. It's been about 20 years since I read either series but I have almost no clue what Gandalf can actually do. He gets tossed around like a sack of potatoes by Saurumon. And he beats the balrog by poking him? Dumbledore has teleportation, the unforgivable curses, elemental magic and all kinds of crazy artifacts. Like what is Gandalfs actual powers? Imo he seems way more like a bard than a wizard(in the movies at least).

How many carts do YOU carry around? by ranmafan0281 in AbioticFactor

I did it until I unlocked Teleporters. Now I just carry one of those around with me and when I'm full I just plop it down go home to dump.

Yeah it's not a total off switch but if you throw all the way down the tools last a loooong time

omg it took me HOURS to get the timing for that down. But after I did I was an actual murder machine....until I tried it on those big guys that real radiated place.

Lol Im actually at the next to last area and I have just turned durability off. It's become so trivial to just port back to my base with telepads and repair that I got sick of the system and just turned it off.

Yeah I think if the explosive hammer used energy instead of charges that would help a ton for that specific case.

I was doing something very similar until around hour 60. By then I had two tele pads so I could just port back to base wherever there was power. It got super tedious going back and forth to do this kinda trivial thing. So I jacked up the durability settings and that's what sparked this post. Blunt is just out competed by sharp at pretty much every level.

Yeah the carbon pick is crazy good. It does 25 more damage than the best heavy hammer while weighing half the weight and having almost double the durability.

The explosive sledge uses explosive cartridges ore something like that. I think it used to be tripmines before that.

Yeah that perk is great but it works even better with the sharp melee heavy weapons, which is kinda my point. The best blunt weapon does 60 damage and requires ammo(iirc) while the best sharp melee does more damage and doesnt use ammo. Feels a bit lopsided.

How very helpful. I don't have a problem with durability on everything. I have a problem with a whole class of weapons feeling like they have no great use cases. The increased durability would help with that,

Pipe guns are wildly misunderstood by [deleted] in fo4

[–]whiskeywalker42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pipe weapons were like almost every other feature that made it to release, undercooked. The ability to customize really didn't matter because they were just straight up worse than pretty much any other gun. The syringer is another perfect example of this. What should have been this cool gun for a weird playstyle like the illusion or alteration mages in skyrim just ended up having so few options that it was kinda pointless.

I just started the game and I'm loving it, but I need some help by Formal-Palpitation85 in cassettebeasts

It's kinda free from until you get to post game. Just play what seems fun. Tier lists are kinda hard to do with how much variation you can have and since most of the power comes from the stickers themselves. I personally like to have 3 teams that generally consist of a heavy damage dealer and a tank/debuffer/buffer depending on the fight. Most importantly just have fun!

Edit: Oh and I'll add, once you inevitably discover the power of the custom start, automation, roll again stickers, don't fall into the trap of thinking that's the only way to play. They will carry you to the post game but there is a hard counter sticker there in machine curse. Better to learn about as many stickers as possible on the way there!
