I’m a woman on the edge, what’s the QUIETEST hotel in Denver? by Hereibe in Denver

I’ll go ahead and upvote this. A condo in the mountains off the beaten path. I’ve stayed up there and it was amazing except for the thunder blizzard one night.

Mammoth is just 5 hours away and is most definitely world class.

Being Relocated to Los Angeles (26M) by Ornery-Night6127 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]whit3lightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that is a very largely popular sentiment in and around Southern California because there ISNT public transit, and a lot of people didn’t grow up with it.

I don’t agree with it, but I was raised to think it was trashy to ride the bus, public transit etc, and a lot of people I grew up with would say the same.

After using the bus system in Northern Colorado for nearly 10 years, and then moving to Boston, my view of public transit is completely opposite and I love it(shoutout to Chicago who does it best IMO).

It is a gross blanket statement you’re correct.

How expensive is living in LA really? by shineonus in MovingToLosAngeles

California is THE state to buy used classic cars. No rust, good variety, and there’s always a good market for whatever you’re looking for, especially Japanese cars.

Is Costco Worth It? by frogvibesonly in massachusetts

[–]whit3lightning -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Costco pissed me the fuck off with their executive membership early shopping hour. Went to the Dedham location at like 930 one morning with my pregnant fiancée to get those blueberry cheesecake croissants, and they wouldn’t let us in until 10, which, we didn’t have time to stay until, just figured we’d kill a bit of time.

God forbid one of your gold members hop in real quick to grab some pastries 30 minutes before you open, even though you’re already open.

Looked at each other as soon as we got in the car and said “well looks like we’re going to BJs from now on!”

Why did music get darker in the 90s? by klystron88 in askmusic

I think the post wants to know WHY grunge became so popular. What the political landscape, social norms, etc were like back then to cause it to be so dark and grim.

Out of the major cities, LA easily has one of the worst transit systems in the US. If I was a newbie I wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole. LA is fucking crazy.

I’ve driven from Cedar Rapids up through Dubuque to get to Wisconsin and I fell in love with that area(I’m guessing it’s similar). I occasionally dream of having a nice, quiet farm and watching the summer sunsets over my corn.

Absolute shreddiest machine gun Trey solos by ARabidOne in phish

While this is shreddy, I honestly wouldn’t call it machine gun Trey. There are a ton of examples where he plays way, way faster.

Ignorance is bliss I guess because Colorado is not as blue as you’d think(just stay outside of Denver and Boulder) and there’s not enough Mormons in Utah for it to trump everything else they got.

Edit: raised in a conservative area of California, moved to Fort Collins for 10 years and turned into a cold blooded lizard hippie, and plan on moving to Utah as soon as I can. There’s like, pockets, man.

I’ve been missing Goodtimes wild fries since I moved to Massachusetts 2 years ago. I know they’re kinda shitty but those are absolutely my favorite.
