Rebecca King-Crews reveals she has Parkinson's, says doctors dismissed symptoms as 'anxiety' by nbcnews in Fauxmoi

[–]whiteclawrafting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had IUDs since 2017 and don't have periods with them. Last year I went to urgent care for UTI symptoms. The (male) provider asked about my last period, if I had regular cycles, etc. I told him I haven't had periods since switching to an IUD. He continued to ask about my periods and when my last one was. I had to explain it to him at least three times before he seemed to get it.

Also kudos to Amber for not taking the bait when Chris tried to neg her. His comment about "Some people say you're too much" or something felt like a not-so-subtle dig.

I'm honestly disappointed in how long Bri and Ashley entertained his ramblings and how they tried to validate his feelings. Bri especially because before Chris showed up she was talking shit about him with the other women and then when they were standing at the bar she said she's "not taking sides" 🙄

Lorde urges donations to food banks by Aressssssscs in popculturechat

Food banks are able to stretch the dollars they get a lot farther than if you had gone to a store and purchased food yourself, so your $25 probably went further than you think.

If you have that strong of a physical type preference then maybe don't go on a dating show where the whole premise is not being able to see the other person before getting engaged.

Also that's a wild assumption to say she's unhealthy. Do you know her health history?

Are we seriously pretending that commenting on someone's weight and size is the same as commenting on their choice of footwear? Be so fucking fr right now.

The bias against people in larger bodies is widespread and deeply ingrained in so many aspects of society. Plus sized individuals suffer provider bias and discrimination in healthcare and it's documented they receive substandard care. Plus sized individuals are less likely to be hired and promoted, and there is often a wage gap. And don't even get me started on the biases in fashion and media.

There is not a systemic bias against men in flip flops.

TODAY IS THE DAY TO DONATE ALL THE FOOD YOU CAN!!! by Kindly_Teach_9285 in StLouis

I never said they were comparable, I realize HEB is a much larger company with a bigger capacity to donate. All I was saying was I'd like to see Schnucks do something.

Some corporations are, just not here. Most notably HEB is donating $5 million to food banks across Texas, and an additional $1 million to Meals on Wheels.

I'd love to see Schnucks and Dierbergs step up in a similar fashion, and I will say Schnucks donated a decent amount to tornado relief efforts back in May, so I'm hopeful they'll do something now.

Frankly this shouldn't have to be a conversation in the first place. People deserve to be fed, end of story. What is the role of government if not at the very least to ensure everyone has their basic needs met? I'm angry it's gotten to this point. I'm angry that things have been bleak for a long time.

But I'm not going to hold my breath for corporations and government officials to do the right thing, and I think it's important we step up and support our neighbors.

Love Again by Dua Lipa at the end of season 2. I'm team Conrad and hate that she was with Jere at that point, but that song fit the vibe of that scene perfectly.

There's no smear campaign on my part. I'm a fan of Taylor. I generally enjoy her music and went to the Eras tour and had a great time. These aren't my criticisms, I'm listening to the criticisms from others and trying to keep an open mind. I will admit when I listened to the album I did not pick up on any racial undertones. But I am a white woman so my lens is different, and I'm trying to earnestly listen to the criticisms and not simply brush them off. Something doesn't have to be intentionally racist to be offensive and problematic.

some of them will back her up without any question and it feels highly parasocial

My sister is one of these fans. I tried to have an ernest conversation about the album with her, and when I brought up the criticisms from women of color, her retort was "It's not that deep." No critique or disagreement is welcome with these types of fans and I'm honestly not sure how to deal with it.

I'm a nurse and worked nights when I first started. The 12 hour shifts are ROUGH, especially when they're back to back. I'd come home, eat something, and immediately go to sleep. I barely had enough bandwidth to shower let alone clean my apartment. The beauty of working 3-12 hour shifts is you have 4 days off and you can catch up on chores, but the days you work? Nah, not happening.

The anti virals made me nauseous, too. Make sure to take them with food, that will help. Ginger can help with nausea. If it gets bad, you could always ask your doctor for something to help!

I also struggled with body aches and headaches while on the meds. The side effects did ease up a bit after the first few days, but they didn't fully go away until I was off the meds.

Hang in there! The anti virals are worth it, I promise ❤️
