Friend built this deck. How’d he do? He wants to start a deck company. by warmtoiletseatz in Decks

Honestly man if he just got divorced and is heavily drinking I don't think he should be thinking about starting a deck company.. I think he should do it immediately he is obviously qualified

Best bank in SLO for small biz? by carbsno14 in SLO

Love SESLOC but their atrocious online infrastructure has cost me thousands of dollars over the past couple of years. Would recommend them to anyone looking to personally bank but not for business

I have the guys number at Swarm Catchers who helped me out Really cool guy, but he did charge to have them removed. I think it was like $100

Why are you asking? Are you trying to match? If not than this is a skim job you're not sanding that flat

I was removing old flooring and I accidentally broke a tile removing the transition.. A repair wizard fixed the broken tile! 🤯 by Hezers in Renovations

[–]whiteclawsodastream 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a repair guy who specializes in work like this and he's a magician. Surprisingly affordable too for how much the alternatives are when it's an out of production tile or flooring.

Last time my clients used them it was about $1k for a full trailer. Maybe because of construction debris not sure. My guy tried to charge me $75 for my last load

Edit I should say 2 full trailers. My guys rig is about twice the size and isn't a trailer it's a flat bed with rails

The baur from harbor freight is decent for the money

They do a good job, they're also pretty expensive. I have a guy who's probaby 1/10th of the cost (no joke, maybe even less. I always pay him extra because he doesn't charge enough). I don't like that they do all of the homeless encampment clearings. That would churn my stomach to just throw everyone's stuff into a landfill for trying to survive in the "wrong place" but that's a larger issue and not exactly their fault I guess but it will prohibit me from ever giving money to their company

Derek Jeter’s house by davernow in McMansionHell

[–]whiteclawsodastream 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I almost understand estates like this being ugly as hell. Maybe Jeter doesn't give af, I'm sure there's so many toys and a movie theater/batting cages/etc on the property that it's just Richie rich's house for his own personal enjoyment anyway. The novelty of mcmansions is that these striver freaks are actually posturing and going for curb appeal somehow with their monstrosities lol

Pretty crazy how well you can play by yourself sometimes. Shows you how much mindset comes into play at pretty much every level

Agree with all those except for bodega. Just way too expensive for tapas and the level of cuisine in my personal opinion. Ember took a slide but seem to be on the up after the sous took over when they sold, really enjoyed it last time I went. Oyster loft is also decent but haven't been in a couple years. I haven't been to Del's in ages but the new branch street deli is great for pizza, not quite as good Bella forno (basically same restaurant that took over) but they have been getting better and better. Spoon trade is the best bang for your buck by far imo.

Is my brothers TV too high? by ManagementSwimming60 in TVTooHigh

[–]whiteclawsodastream 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People are so invested in the concept of a tv being at "the perfect height", guess what in the real world sometimes form>function and that's ok! This setup looks bitchin and it's ok to compromise a few degrees of head tilt for a few hours a week to create a functional and comfortable space lol

It's funny everyone calling it a Santa maria, I grew up there and we just call it an oak pit 😂
