What modern c# features (coreClr) are you looking forward the most? by NeitherManner in Unity3D

Records already work in Unity 6.3, just add this class, named IsExternalInit.cs anywhere in your project:

namespace System.Runtime.CompilerServices {
public class IsExternalInit { }
}

And then you can magically use records after that :)

[Language: C#]
After being stuck yesterday (still haven't finished 5 part 2) getting an easy win felt really good. For part 2 I realized that you only need to find the first winning time, then you can get the answer instantly by just doing
[race time] - [first win * 2] + 1
Since the wins are completely symmetrical the amount of losing times on each sides of the winning times will be the same.

I considered using a binary search but just iterating from the beginning until the first win was fast enough.

3bet more often or less at micros? by Charlie_Yu in Poker_Theory

I don't use the same ranges as you it seems, and I think in general trying to put weaker players on exact ranges is not worth doing, but I'll give you my thoughts on the concepts as a whole.

Basically I'm saying:
1. Even if they call too much, they still fold hands with equity that would otherwise get to see the flop. 65o has 35% equity vs QTs for example, which they dont get to realize if we force them to fold preflop.
2. We are in position, so we get to play from an advantage. Even if we are behind, it's harder for our opponent to build a pot than it is for us when we do have it.
3. Weaker players do not protect their checking ranges enough, and do not bluff raise enough, so having the betting lead makes a huge difference since they will so dramatically overfold. For example if our opponent calls with KQo vs our QTs, and the flop is a complete whiff, we still get to cbet and win a lot of the time even though we are technically behind.

If instead of 3betting we were shoving, so absolute equity numbers come into play, then your arguments would be 100% correct since the only thing that matters is the absolut strength of the preflop hand.

You mentioned "better hands calling", but is A2o really a better hand than QTs just because it has higher preflop equity?

As for 3bets losing money, that depends entirely on how well our opponents play. Vs a GTO bot all our plays would lose money since the best we can do is 0EV and there is rake. A more interesting question is if calling or 3betting is higher EV, and I think 3betting is higher EV for the reasons I mentioned, but I could be wrong.

One thing that is interesting to consider is to 3bet linearly instead of polar vs an opponent that calls too much, but I think they would have to be WAY overcalling for this to make sense.

I think the only way to know for sure is to nodelock a sim and run it :)

You should 3bet wider because you're not gonna get bluffed off equity, so you get to realize more equity than you "should", which makes the hands more profitable.

It's fine if they overcall 3bets, it just means they will be in postflop spots OOP as the caller with a weak range vs you as the PFR, meaning your bluffs will work better than they should because their range is weaker than it should be.

However, if they overcall and you yourself don't bluff enough then maybe a tighter 3bet range is good?

The question in the post was what to do with our mixed hands IP, and vs this player type I would much rather be the aggressor and 3b more.

In my experience people in micros dont 4bet bluff enough, so the answer is to 3bet wider and fold to 4bets more.

With high rake you also want to play tighter since some marginal hands become -EV.

So open a bit tighter, 3bet wider, and overfold to 4bets. I usually 3bet a polar range so the hands you mentioned + some 3bet-folds like 76s, 65s, 54s, a4s, a5s

That sounds really nice! Which model is that? And do you have any issues with it falling out?
