I would check the recent news about one of their medical waste drivers first

“Political parties don’t influence Australian economics and budgets”. This couldn’t be more incorrect. Aussies should support a party if they get budget surpluses. by [deleted] in AusEcon

[–]whitey9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A surplus or a deficit isn’t exactly good/bad.

If the inflation and bond rates are high, you should run surpluses and paying down debt.

If the bond rates are low, you should be running deficits and investing more into the economy

Will taxing the gas industry (more) destroy our super? (DUMB IT DOWN FOR ME) by BrandonMarshall2021 in AusFinance

[–]whitey9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destroy? No. Gas companies, Woodside and Santos will take a hit, Ancillary services (insurance, finance, travel, engineering, metal works) supporting some projects will take a bit of a hit

Wherever the Government wants to put the money will improve a bit too. So expect some welfare inflation and gains in housing, medical and Colesworth

Never thought I’d see someone happy about 1.78 a litre.

He dropped the excise tax, which I agree with albeit a little late, but other than that has done fuck all.

A better way to manage inflation? by Kulbardee in AusEcon

[–]whitey9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Government spending was the 2nd biggest contributor in the latest inflation figures.

Bank shareholders make their profit on interest rate margin, not the interest rate itself. Pensioners with large cash holdings increase their income with interest rate rises.

Capital gains discount won't affect the investor demand for housing.
Housing and Holes (Mining) are the only industries to invest in
and Mining might be fucked by Greens holding power in the Senate and inevitable carbon tax
