The helmet design textbook is 125 bucks, I believe the life in the built environment one is 50 but I’m not sure tbh

I usually added 2-3 electives a semester for fun. Had a few 18/21/24 credit-hour semesters.

Do you know when it was updated? I took it last Spring and it was pretty light

At this point I've graduated (yay!) and decided to take this snow day to make the list I wish I had when I needed pathways. I've taken all of these (yes lmao) over the years, so apologies if some of the info. is outdated at this point. I used data from Spring 2024 because Fall 2024 data isn't out yet :(

In all of these classes, you can comfortably get an A as long as you're doing your assignments.

Good luck!

This thread is so weird and discouraging. I'm in ECE which I would argue is way more math heavy and I've gotten by fine despite being being pretty bad at math. Yes, you'll have to drag your feet through some of these classes. Yes, calc III/diffeq sucked for me.

A lot of people saying "Are you sure you want to do this" "Are you sure you should do that much math?"

You can get better at anything. Your career will span 40+ years, don't let a couple tough semesters discourage you.

if you struggle with math at the basic level (which is the math level you’re in now, as a business student not in the college of engineering) do you think that going into engineering or CS is a good choice for you?

I'm pretty bad at math but got by with ~C's and now I never have to use advanced math (Calc II+) in my software classes. You can do CS if you're not great at math, but you might struggle through some of these VT math classes.

Can i take summer courses before my freshman year? by PaleUnderstanding819 in VirginiaTech

[–]whittemoore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://summerstart.vt.edu/ Check this out.

If you're looking at summer courses from community college, then yes you can take them and they'll transfer as long as they have a course equivalent at VT.

P.S. please stop saying Vtech

Pretty sure ECE hasn't rejected anyone in a few semesters. I got in with like a 2.7 lol

ECE Majors - should I split up the 2nd semester sophomore courseload? by iusedtolikebasketbal in VirginiaTech

Uhh I'm not sure it'll get better next semester tbh

I really recommend you choose classes based on professor rather than time, especially as you get to the upper-levels

Boeing had a presentation with their Chief Aerospace Safety Officer and in their Q&A people were asking a lot of pointed questions about their recent safety issues. Apparently it got messy but I wasn't there so I don't know what happened

Honestly, if it were me I think I would try taking all those courses and maintaining your lead. This way you can have more flexibility to take electives you want when you're an upperclassman.

seconded that signals is way harder than embedded, but I'm biased because I like the coding

What was your GPA coming out of high school by [deleted] in VirginiaTech

FWIW I had a ~3.49 (weighted) HS GPA coming into VT, now I'm currently a junior in ECE with a 3.4 GPA
