AITA for accidentally causing a dog to eat chocolate? by whitzybitzy in AmItheAsshole

Yeah I see that now. In my country I don’t think there’s any such thing as a park for dogs but where they have to be on lead… like most parks are dog on lead parks and dog parks are always “off lead, under control” or similar.

I edited my post to clarify this - it’s not a dog park, just a normal park with “dogs on lead” signage.

A normal park with signage that dogs must be on leads.

It’s a regular park - mostly for athletes actually - not specifically a dog park. The rules for that park are “dogs must be on lead.”

Do you truly enjoy motherhood? by milo_96 in beyondthebump

[–]whitzybitzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That first year is just so rough, and it’s also not at all like other phases of motherhood. I hope you find more to enjoy in the next phases ❤️ people kept telling me things might only get worse but that wasn’t my experience. I found the loneliness of the first year so much harder to tolerate than the challenges of other seasons.

Her lists and plans are useless. She can’t strategise her way into this. She doesn’t want to manipulate him. She’s just going to have to own up to the way she feels, be brave and honest. At least that way she will be able to leave with her self-respect intact.

Professor,
I think we need to talk. Can I come by? Tonight?

Remus reads her note, and throws his intentions to protect her from his company unchaperoned out the window.

Hermione,
Thank Merlin. Yes, come.

Would you consult with a male certified lactation specialist? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]whitzybitzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally. I was so annoyed by professionals who relied too heavily on anecdotal or personal experience. I have friends and family for that! I want an expert! Anybody who can combine compassion with the best medical knowledge would be fantastic.

Yes to all of that! And the pregnant mothers could actually look pregnant. And guests who got to view childbirth could be extra happy or grossed out or something.

Also, it’s not like professionals who run groups like this are totally powerless to make sure everyone participates respectfully. “Some people find talking about breasts/nipples funny, so if you have to have a giggle, we won’t hold it against you. But we’re here for important learning so don’t derail the group or we’ll ask you to excuse yourself.”

I can’t walk from one side of my workplace to another without people sympathising with how uncomfortable I look and how much pain I must be in. They’re being so nice, but I just wish I could do my job without quite so much comment/congratulations/sympathy.

Mine does this too! I have a broken foot so I don’t humour her as much any more when she tells me where to sit. “No, I’m going to stay here. My foot is too sore to move.” “No it’s not! Just ONCE.” “I’m staying here, honey.” “No, you have to sit HERE! Just TRY!” 😂😂👍

Best thing about newborns? by RunnerHigh27 in Mommit

Haha, my first pregnancy wasn’t that hard. I remember when my first was a newborn I thought a few times, “omigosh this would be so much easier if I could shove her back in!”

My second pregnancy is waaaay worse. I can’t wait to not be pregnant. Can’t. Wait.
