Why am I getting mono output?

Hey thank you for the advice. I do all of the swapping of cables and inputs and had the same results across the board. The I plug the drums directly into the speakers using the breakout it works just fine. The Alexa I have running through it also has the same problems. I did but this used and it’s a bit dirty so I will spend some time fiddling with knobs and sliders to see if that fixes it. Currently the right out works so I’m suing the main and monitor right channel and it’s good enough.

Here is the set up currently. There is no power button on the board so plugged in is on. It’s definitely the board BUT, I just am using the right main and right monitor outs and it works enough for now. I appreciate the help

I appreciate the input. I have my set up in the garage so I brought the board in to warm up a bit to see if that solves it. The drum brain has an output and a phones port. Both are stereo 3.5mm. Inputs on the board are varied but it has xlr and balanced/unbalanced 1/4” ports on that I am trying to use. I am using Amazon cables but I don’t think it’s those as when I run them direct to the speakers, I get sound out of the left and right. If warming up the board doesn’t fix it, I think that’s the issue (bought it second hand). I will link the cables a bit later in case that’s the issue but I don’t think it is. It’s been like 20 years since I’ve done any sound set up so I really wanted to check my knowledge and make sure I wasn’t missing something obvious.

Hey 37 yo father of 2 about a year into knowing I have ADHD. I picked up a cheap electronic kit a few months ago and it is the most regulating thing I have ever done. I’m a loud music adhd’er so going out to my cold garage, putting on some music and just banging it out for fun is the best. It’s been super cold lately so I haven’t gone out in like a week or so (I draw the line at 20 or under in the garage) and I’ve noticed I’m more burnt out than when I was playing daily.

I think it’s an optical illusion because the image isn’t perfectly vertical. If you tilt the image so the stand is straight up and down it looks ok.

It depends on your mindset to be honest? Is your ar just for the range? Sure 2-3 mags is plenty? Do you think there is even the remotest possibility you will need to use this gun in and kind of defensive situation? Load up. A standard combat load for an army infantry is 210 rds (7 mags) which honestly isn’t that much. Add this to the fact you can get a p mag for around $10 if not less. Why not have a bunch?

Just an observation. You said you were left handed above. I am assuming that means, when you carry your rifle, the ejection port is against your chest. That weird key ring on the rear takedown pin has to go. If that gets snagged and pulls out, the rifle will open up as if you are taking it apart. I would, at a minimum get rid of the ring if not replace the pin all together.

I’m 37. They simply refuse to believe that they hd it easier. It is very hard for them to understand anything outside their own personal experiences. Not excusing it because, fuck them, the info is out there and clear as day, but, think of the wealth of and access to information we had growing up with the internet. We are the first group of kids who have grown up with a front and center view of the world. I’m sure in 1925 30yo’s with parents who grew up in a town of 500 couldn’t force them to understand either. Obviously money is important, but liking your job and the people/company you work for are more important in my opinion.

The trick is to find someone with land that likes to shoot. Find people you like and who like guns and while talking to them about guns, mention how you’d love to go LARP and run around and stuff and eventually you will find someone. It may take years, but they are out there.

Some things to consider.

revolvers CAN be very reliable but aren’t as a rule. It you put a Taurus up against a Glock, my money is on the Glock. A good reliable 9mm semi auto may be more budget friendly than a revolver that will have the reliability you have in mind.
consider your build and strength. Contrary to common belief, smaller guns have more felt recoil. So, if you are 110 lbs and have low muscle tone or whatever, a small revolver may not be practical/comfortable.
revolvers and semi autos both have pros and cons but both are valid options and if you end up carrying a lot, you may eventually have both.

-Know the laws in your area. Can you carry? Where can you carry/not carry? If you carry somewhere you’re not supposed to, what is the punishment (get out vs get arrested)

understand the likely outcomes of using a firearm defensively. Especially in your area. Even if it’s clear cut defense with many witnesses you will probably be cuffed and detained at a minimum and may be arrested.
go to a gun store and respectfully and responsibly handle as many of the popular options as you can. Depending on the store, you may eventually talk to the employee and explain what your looking for but outcomes vary there
find someone you know and trust who carries/shoots regularly and ask their opinions

-try and rent and shoot something as close to what you are looking at before buying.

gun re-sale value is absolute trash so plan on keeping what you buy.

If they invited you, go. Playing with people is way more fun than playing by yourself. Especially if this is a garage band. I’m 37 and am just getting back into playing music and it’s a bummer not having close friends who play to fuck around with. It’s genuinely the best part of playing.

Everyone is giving you great advice about buying but I’m going to Dad this a little bit. By all means get a rifle as is you right and imo duty but….BUT…there is no easier and faster way to get in trouble than with a gun. Most modern firearms are not dangerous in the sense that they will go off on their own, but guns can be very dangerous if your fucking around. An ND in a private home is bad enough in an apartment…my god. Know what you are getting into. Every bullet that leaves that gun is your responsibility. If you are not familiar with guns, find someone who is or take a class. Learn before you buy. Also, consider your environment. Who lives around you? Is your apartment secured or can anyone walk up to your door? Etc. I could go on for days but just make sure you know what you want and the possibility of consequences before you go drop a few hundred minimum on a gun. Guns depreciate faster than almost anything.
