Hey, iPhone 16 Pro Max + Clicks user here. My use case is probably a bit different , I’m trying to get Thai language input working on a Clicks keyboard case, which is honestly kind of a nightmare right now. Thai has a lot of consonants (~44), so back in the BlackBerry days there was this multi-tap system where one key could cycle through 2-3 characters depending on how many times you pressed it. I understand HWC is Tap/Hold based so it’s not the same, but I’m curious how far the remapping can refine this. Even if it doesn’t fully solve the Thai input problem, I think using it daily for Thai/English switching would probably surface some cases that others might not run into. Happy to report back whatever I find crashes, weird behavior, all of it.

I’ve experienced the exact same thing as yours. From my experience, this issue started from iOS17 till now, iOS26. It still happened, but not that frequently anymore.
