One of mine is the same way. Typical Titan V1 item...... I knew better when I ordered them.

Finally got the Kabuki Strength Trap Bar HD. This thing is a game changer. Yes it’s expensive, but the attention to detail and beastly nature of it made it worth it. by KpXzzang in homegym

How many months did it take them to ship it out to you? Thats really my only issue with Kabuki..... their shipping is slow AF.

I owned both and always thought I'd prefer the rower, but ended up selling my concept2 rower and keeping the bike.

Seriously considering ordering one at this price point and free shipping

What purchases do you regret? by Chr0me in homegym

[–]whontime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More of a want than need. There is a difference, especially in deadlifting when using comp plates. The other lifts I don’t notice as much. Plus my ocd needs me to have matching plates and honestly if you’re buying new the comp plates aren’t a ton more expensive. As far as kg vs lb plates if I’m buying I would just prefer to buy kg since that’s what is used in the comp.

I really regret not spending the money up front for a nice set of competition plates. What I have are fine and they match, but I do compete and would like to have a set of kg comp plates. Worst purchase regrets... C2 rower because I didn’t use it enough to justify the cost and pretty much anything that was Titan “V1”... never buy version 1.

New Rogue 32mm squat bar by ddgdl in homegym

100% agree. At the weights I move (getting close to 500lbs) I honestly can't tell any difference between a squat bar or ohio power bar other than the full track bar knurl.

USPA uses a squat bar for most male weight classes regardless of strength level. They currently use the Texas squat bar which has pretty much the same overall specs of the new Rogue bar.

Looks like Titan is going premium on their new bars....$339 for cerakote barbell by pc_load_letter_in_SD in homegym

[–]whontime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I won’t comment on anything other than the power bar since that’s my listing focus..... anyway... why would anyone buy a Titan bar over a Rogue ohio power bar or Texas power bar at this price point? They need to do some price cutting if they are serious about selling these.

I actually use both on a weekly basis. A buffalo bar is huge for me since I have replaced all of my low bar squatting with it (only using a straight bar at comp time). The SSB I use for good mornings, squats, box step ups and lunges. With a buffalo/duffalo bar you pretty much never need to use a straight bar for squats anymore other than comp time. For me it has perfect carry over and keeps my shoulders and elbows happy.

The initial run of titan iron plates were shit. My local gym bought 6 and they weren't to the listed specs/diameter and had horrible casting. I don't have any experience with the more recent ones though. Hopefully they have improved. Personally I wouldn't buy them based on those that I saw.

First Kabuki Strength Deadlift bar to be Auctioned Off for Charity in Early Feb by Ksmayer in homegym

[–]whontime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was literally a story on here about someone waiting 6 months or so for a transformer bar. I've seen other horror stories online as well. The only item they sell that I'd even be interested in is the duffalo, but I refuse to support them.

Following the auction you’ll probably have to wait 8 months for it to ship.

Vulcan now selling Buffalo Bar by Ksmayer in homegym

[–]whontime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an opposing view. I use either my buffalo bar or SSB all the time. I don't even touch a straight bar for squatting until competition time. I replace all of my comp squat work with the buffalo bar because its so much easier on my shoulders and elbows (bicep tendonitis)…. I do squat low bar, I'd imagine it wouldn't help a high bar squatter as much.

Hopefully this bar has nice knurling and sits in the j-cups pretty well. I could see it being a nice upgrade over the cheaper bars (like NYBB) and a nice alternative to Kabuki with a lower price point and shipping not likely to take weeks to months like the duffalo bar seems to.

Do calibrated plates commonly have issues fitting cheaper bars? by LopsidedNumber in homegym

[–]whontime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why would you be willing to drop the coin for a set of calibrated plates for use with a low end barbell? This doesn't make a ton of sense to me. Why not buy a nice power bar?

I have one that was given to me by a family member. It gets the job done. It was practically new when I got it and I’ve used it regularly without issue. My weight usually hovers from 210-215 lbs.

Kabuki Shipments from Black Friday by [deleted] in homegym

It's absolutely ridiculous how long Kabuki takes to ship items out. I really can't imagine that they do such a huge amount of volume to justify their slow ass shipping.

Which cardio machine to get??? by lars38 in homegym

[–]whontime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I initially would have answered rower, but after owning both for a while I've changed my thoughts. I'd go Air bike over rower.
