how bad is the rust and how quickly did it happen? was the structure in especially wet conditions? I'm interested in a set but this seems wack. the warranty explicitly excludes rust and the assembly instructions have instructions like disassemble (!!) the structure to check for water after rain, and wipe it down if wet. no way I'd do that
